Olan L. Whitmer, Olan L. Whitmer, age 72, of Beaverton died Feb. 29, 2004 at 
MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin, of a sudden illness. Olan was born Nov. 
12, 1931 in Midland to John and Flossie 
(Myers) Whitmer in Midland. He was employed as a Foreman at Dow Chemical in 
Midland, retiring in 1982 after 30 years. He was also an army veteran, having 
served during the Korean War. Olan had lived in Gladwin County since 1946, 
having previously lived in Midland. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of 
the Brethren. 
   Surviving him are his daughter, Angela (Ronald) Sullivan of Coleman; his 
granddaughter, Jessica Sullivan of Coleman; two sisters, Lillian (Milton) 
Tolly of Hope, and Barbara (Jim) Andrist of Beaverton; one brother, Daniel 
(Claudia) Whitmer of Beaverton; several nieces and nephews; and special 
friend, Jorey Fassett. He is predeceased by his parents; brother Robert; and 
son Michael Whitmer. 
   Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at Beaverton 
Church of the Brethren in Beaverton. Pastor John Glasscock will be 
officiating. Visitation will be from Wednesday, March 3, from 2 to 9 p.m., at 
Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton and at the church on Thursday, March 4 from 10 
a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Tobacco Township 
(Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be sent to the 
Beaverton Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
