RITES HERE SUNDAY FOR EX-RESIDENT

   Mrs. Sylvia Whitmer, 73, of Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of Gladwin 
County, died today (Wednesday) in Greenville, following a long illness. Born 
on Sept. 25, 1893, she resided in Gladwin County from 1902 to 1919. She was a 
member of the Church of the Brethren. The former Sylvia Fike was married to 
Edgar Whitmer on March 29, 1914, in Beaverton. He preceded her in death on 
July 16, 1966.
   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lola Snyder of Midland, Mrs. Lois Wilt, 
Coleman, and Mrs. Erina Marlin, of Greenville, Ohio; one son, Alton of 
Midland; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Rites will be held Sunday 
at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Randall Roose 
will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Mrs. Whitmer is at the 
Hall Funeral Home.
