Williams, 79, of Beaverton, died Monday, Nov. 4, 1996, at Tender Care Nursing Home in Midland, following a long illness. Born Oct. 31, 1917 in Clare, she was a resident of Beaverton since 1981 when she moved from Sanford. The former Dessa Utley married Harold E. E. Williams May 31, 1935 in Clare and he preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1988. She was employed as a licensed pratical nurse at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center-Clare, MidMichigan Regional Medical Center-Midland and King's Daughter Nursing Home, before retiring in 1979. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Golden Rod Rebekah 151 and Blue Star Mothers where she was past state treasurer. Surviving are 3 sons, Robert and wife Marlene of Beaverton, Lawrence and wife Carol of Jackson, Durwin and wife Christine of Rives Junction; one daughter, Jeanette and husband Ralph McKimmy of Beaverton; one brother, John E. Utley of Farwell; 4 sisters, Lela Wilson of Lake, Anna Dortha Keaton of Campbellsburg, Ky., Barbara Rae LaRue of Carpenterville, Ill., and Marjorie Ellaine Rojo of Las Vegas, Nev.; 23 grandchildren; 39 great - grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lillis Ann Holland in 1989; one granddaughter, Rebecca Irene Williams in 1964; one brother; and 4 sisters. Special memorial services will be held today (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. by the Blue Star Mothers; at 7:15 p.m. by the Rebekahs; and at 7:30 p.m. by the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel with the Rev. Henry List offiiciating. Burial will be in the Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery, Beaverton.
