Witkovsky, 89, of Beaverton, died Monday, July 3, 1995 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home following a long illness. Born July 1, 1906 in Caro, he resided in Beaverton since 1971 when he moved from Breckenridge. Mr. Witkovsky farmed in the Coleman and Beaverton areas until retiring in 1961. He was employed by Farmers Petroleum in Breckenridge from 1961 to 971. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and the Beaverton Housing Commission, where he was instrumental in the beginning plans for the Beaverton Manor. Mr. Witkovsky was active with Beavercraft, Grange and the Coleman PTA, where he served as president. In addition he was involved with Farm Bureau, the 4-H leaders in Midland County, the Mid Mich Travel Club, Meals on Wheels, Gideons International (Gladwin County Camp) and Mid Michigan Alliance. He married the former Ethel McKimmy Feb. 12, 1927 in Beaverton. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Lowell and wife Delma of Martinsburg, Penn. and William and wife Lovene of Beaverton; 3 daughters, Evelyn and husband Neil Bullerman of Muskegon, Charlene and husband Oscar Anderson of Gladwin, and Lila and husband Lee Hannahs of Beaverton; 4 brothers, Clifton of Pigeon, Clayton of Caro, Loren of Colony, Texas, and Robert of Bay City; 2 sisters, Donna McDaniel of Sun City, Fla. and Roberta Rappel of Bay City; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Earl and a sister, Onita Ringle. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Church of the Brethren, Beaverton with the Rev. Kenneth Golay officiating. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery, Tobacco Township. Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton chapel from noon to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday).
