WOLFE Alfred W. Wolfe, 85, of Beaverton, died Monday, May 22, 1995 at the Gladwin Nursing Home following a long illness. Born Sept. 27, 1909 in Hope, he was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and moved to Beaverton in 1942 to be a farmer in Tobacco Township. Mr. Wolfe left farming in 1953 and moved to the city of Beaverton where he was employed by Beaverton where he was employed by Beaverton Rural Schools until his retirement in 1974. He was very active member in the Gladwin County 4-H program and the Beaverton United Methodist Church. He married the former Thelma Yager in August 1931. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Keith and wife Donna Beaverton; 4 daughters, Donna and husand Galen Kitner of Winter Park, Fla., Connie and husband Sidney Dean of Eaton Rapids, Sharon and husband Gordon Schaarf of Metcalf, Ontario, Canada, and Karen and husband Robert Rulison of Haslett; one sister, Sarah Williams of Saginaw; one brother Charles Steede of Saginaw; 2 nephews, Melvin and Clyde Williams; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. Rites of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton chapel, with the Rev. David Stewart and the Rev. Bruce Hatch officiating. Burial will be in the Beaverton Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Beaverton Methodist Church Youth Group.
