Woodby, 77, former Gladwin County teacher and Beaverton businessman, died Friday, Gladwin Hospital after a brief illness. Woodby taught school for 40 years, most of that time in the Beaverton Area Schools. When he retired in 1954, he became a real estate broker. He was born in Johnson City, Tenn., Feb. 4, 1891. He was a member of the Michigan Education Association, Gladwin County Chamber of Commerce, Beaverton Businessman's Association, Beaverton Lions Club, and the Beaverton Masonic lodge and the O.E.S. * * * Surviving are the widow, Helen; three sons, Wayne of Warren, Loren of East Lansing, and the Rev. Donald of Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Conrad of Palo Alto, Calif; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with burial in the Dale Cemetery.
