He was a native of Beaverton and had resided in Florida for the past 5 years. Dr. Woodby was Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Michigan State University. He was a member of the Eglin Eagles Golf Club, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, American Mathematical Assoc. and the Panama Canal Zone Assoc. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired U. S. Army, Lt. Col. He was listed in Who's Who of America, 1978-1979. Survivors include his wife, Alice of Niceville; 2 daughters, Marcia Paulsell of Mercer Island, Wash., and Sylvia Woodby of Alexandria, Va.; 3 sons, Robert of Denver, Col., Carl of Dallas, Texas and Douglas of Juneau, Alaska; 2 step-sons, Bennett Hart of Manassas, Va. and Michael Hart of Urbana, Ill.; 2 brothers, Wayne Woodby of Holland, and Donald Woodby of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Virginia Conrad of San Francisco, Calif. and 8 grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at the Dale United Methodist Church, Tuesday, March 26. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
