Ruth A. Yats, 68, of Beaverton, died Saturday, March 23, 1996 at the home of 
her daughter in Gladwin following a long illness. Born Oct. 28, 1927 in 
Gladwin, she was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. Mrs. Yats was a 
homemaker and also cooked in several local restaurants. The former Ruth 
Dennings married George Yats April 23, 1945 in Gladwin. He preceded her in 
death Oct. 24, 1986.
   Surviving are 2 daughters, Carolyn and husband Andy Anderson Gladwin, and 
Janice Saylor of Sanford; 2 sons, Marion and wife Laura of Beaverton, and 
Chester of Beaverton; 3 brothers, Lester Dennings of Clare, Clayton Dennings 
of Gladwin, and Orley Dennings of Midland; one sister, Margaret Seeley of Mt. 
Pleasant; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. 
   Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton chapel. The Rev. Arthur Munger officiated and burial was in the Dale 
Cemetery, Tobacco Township.
