Ziegler, 96, formerly of Gladwin and Saginaw, and Memphis, Tenn., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at Oregon Manor Nursing Home. Born Aug. 12, 1905 in Rutland, Iowa, she was the loving daughter of John and Ellen Schultz. Tilda and her husband, Paul, served as a missonary for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Lusaka, Zambia from 1953 until 1956. She was a manager of Kitchen Service at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw for 10 years. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnne and husband Henry Beisel of Sun City, Calif., and Pauline Stransky of Marana, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren; one sister, May West of Humboldt, Iowa; and one brother, Richard Schultz of Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; and two sons, John and David. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oregon Manor Nursing Home with Rev. Scott Ziegler officiating. Burial will be held at Billings Cemetery, Beaverton, at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. Gunderson Oregon Funera Home, Oregon, Wisc., was in charge of the arrangements.
