Ziegler, 72, of Hope, died suddenly Friday, April 19, at the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Rockwell, Iowa, on Feb. 16, 1902, he was a self- employed carpenter and a maintenance man at the Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw. Mr. Ziegler moved to Hope seven years ago from Saginaw. He was a member of the Billings Senior Citizens Club and the Sanford Lutheran Church. He and the former Tilda Schultz were married on July 12, 1925, in Albert Lea, Minn. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joanne Harper and Mrs. Pauline Stransky, both of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, John of LaCrosse, Wisc. and David of Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Mrs. Elsie Harrenstein of Smith Center, Ka., Mrs. Eleanor Dirks of Park Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Theodora Sanders of VanMeter, Iowa, Mrs. Rosenna Voelk of Kansas City, Kan. and Mrs. Hazel Bliss of Clear Lake, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rites were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. The Rev. L.W. Newman officiated and burial was in the Billings Cemetery.
