He was born in Royal Oak Sept. 26, 1932 to Ellis and Ella (Rooney) May. Edward married Florence M. Brinkley Aug. 20, 1953 in Rochester, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 2000. Edward retired as a truck driver for Marathon Oil Company in Birmingham, Michigan in 1989. He served with the United States Army in the Korean War. He has lived in Gladwin County since 1974, previously residing in Troy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the casino. He spent the last year and a half as a resident of the Grand Rapids Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids where he received excellent care. He is survived by his sons, Gerry (Kim) of Gladwin, Jim (Lois) Dailey of Coleman, and Mike (Andrea) Dailey of Farwell; daughter, Ginny Grant of Beaverton; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his parents; one son, Gary; one sonin- law, Mark Grant; and two brothers, Fred and David. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton with George Villarreal officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton.
