Shooltz, 72, of 150 Deer Run Trail, Gladwin, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1992 in the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center, Gladwin, after an illness of a month. Born in Ferndale, Nov. 24, 1920, he came to Gladwin County in 1974 from Union Lake. Mr. Shooltz operated Huron Tool. He started the business in Union Lake in 1969 and moved the operation to Gladwin in 1974. He retired in 1987. Mr. Shooltz and the former Audrey Berry, were married Oct. 2, 1943, in Ferndale. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters. Nancy Shooltz of Sterling Heights and Mrs. James (Barbara) Rich of White Lake; 4 sons, Barry of Grandville, Dennis of Gladwin, Bob of Traverse City and Bill of Clare; 2 brothers. William of Florida and Louis of California; 2 sisters, Lucille Kaschefsky of Redford and Betty Roper of Florida; and 12 grandchildren. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Roger Hardy officiated and burial was in the Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Hospice of Gladwin.
