He was born June 16, 1847, at Stockwood, Ontario. Mr. Thurlow came to Michigan at an early age and settled near Ithaca. About 40 years ago he came to Gladwin, and has since made his home here. He was married July 3, 1881, to Lydia Harris, who died May 29, 1912. He was afterwards married to Mrs. Charlotte Smith, who survives with her two daughters, Jennie Smith and Mrs. Zelda Simrau. He also leaves a stepdaughter, Mrs. John Demaray, and a stepson, Bert Harris of Gladwin township, three brothers, James Thurlow of Chinook, Mont., Robert Thurlow of Marshall, North Dakota, and George Thurlow of Leslie, Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. Irving Johnson of Leslie and Mrs. Libbie Ferris. Services were held at the home Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. H. Cornelius. Burial in Ridge cemetery.
