J.B. PIGGOTT Capt. J.B. Piggott, who it was announced in these columns last week had resigned his position at the Anvil mine, has disposed of his household furniture and effects and will leave the range the first of the week. Capt. Piggott has been a prominent figure on the Gogebic since the first work was commenced and has been in charge at the Anvil mine since its infancy. He is a practical mining man and a careful and judicious manager, well liked and respected by all men who have worked under his direction. The Herald is loath to announce his departure from among us, but we join his many friends here in wishing him success in whatever field he may cast his future lot. He informs us that he will take a trip across the ocean and spend a few months in rest and recreation after which leaving Mrs. Piggott and family there, he will return to his country and cast his lot in the new gold districts now being explored in western Montana. The Herald trusts that he will find the needed rest and relaxation from active duty beneficial and returning here find health and wealth, to both of which he is duly entitled, in the gold fields which it is the intention to seek when he returns to America.
