Dally at Painsdale last December was convicted by a jury at Marquette last week. The jury was out but about 35 minutes when a verdict of guilty was determined upon. The case has been on before Judge Cooper for over two weeks and its result was anxiously watched for by the law abiding people of the peninsula. The state's interest was looked after by Atty. George E. Nichols who was appointed by the atty. general to take charge of the case. The defense entrusted mainly to Congressman W.J. MacDonald. Huhta made a confession - in fact he made several confessions - in which he laid the killing of the Jane boys and Dally to himself, Nick Verbanac, Hjaimer Jalonen and Joseph Juutnen, all members of the Western Federation of Miners. Judge Cooper sentenced him to life imprisonment.
