Here are a few of them: Andrew Christoferson, aged 65, ? missing, killed by a shotgun ? out of his hands and being accidentally discharged. The full ? entered his body and he died within a few hours. August Nordgrene, 35, killed by accidental discharge from a rifle. He was cleaning same. A widow and three children survive. ?nton Karez, of Trenary, killed by an accidental discharge of 32-caliber rifle in the hands of Jacob ?bian. The bullet entered his brain. Victor ?manen, 35, shot in the head and instantly killed while getting into a boat. He dragged a loaded gun behind him and when the trigger caught on one of the seats it was discharged. John Kilpela, of Calumet, 17 [or 47], shot in the abdomen while resting with his gun. The wound proved fatal. Tony Obrenvich, 23, of Red ?acket, dropped a loaded gun from a wagon and in reaching for it, discharged the weapon and was struck in the stomach with fatal results. John Fors, 17 [or 47], of Crystal Falls, shot while resting on the barrel of a gun. One arm was amputated but he died from the result of the wound. James Watkins, 43 [or 13] of Bellaire, Schoolcraft county, was killed by the severing of the jugular vein when his gun was accidentally discharged while climbing into a wagon. James Rolle, 27, of Negaunee, on returning from a hunting trip fell down a flight of stairs and sustained a fractured skull, which proved fatal. Edward Fontaine, 13, of Marquette, shot by a companion. One eye destroyed and probably the other. Condition critical. Beverly J. Bugg, 37, of Grand Marais, wounded by the discharge of gun he thought was unloaded. One foot amputated; the other foot amputated years ago, also the result of an accident. Edward Barrow, 23, of Sidnaw, arm partly blown off by the discharge of a gun carried by a companion. Michael Bassalo, 31, of Negaunee, wounded in the thigh when he fell with a cocked gun. DeWitt Pangborn, of Grand Rapids, shot in arm when pulling a gun in a wagon by the muzzle. John Ellola, of Ironwood, mistaken for a bear by Chas. Leikkonen, shot and seriously wounded. Albert Alvord, 15 [or 45], of Munising, arm shattered by accidental discharge of shotgun. Albin Makki, of Negaunee, gunshot wound in arm when his gun caught in the brush and was discharged. Amputation threatened. Albert Rossiter, a metropolitan boy, had part of his hand blown off when his gun slipped out of his hands and was discharged. Albert Blewett, of Painesdale, shot in leg. Albert Ross, of Ontonagon, seriously wounded by charge of shot from companion's gun. John Falkie, of Ironwood, mistaken for a deer and shot in the arm by an unknown hunter. Joseph Jonavin, of Stephenson, was the victim of a set gun. He was alone and was helpless in the woods for two days. George Milchuck, of Munising, wounded in the hip by a bullet fired by a companion while loading a gun. Chas. Burble, of Crystal Falls, shot in the back by an unknown hunter, not serious. An unknown man, supposed to reside in Detroit, was shot and seriously wounded near Grand Marais by a member of the hunting party. Clyde Hazen, 43 [or 13], of Brimley, arm amputated as the result of the accidental discharge of a gun He was standing on a log when he slipped and discharged the gun. August Ward, of Cedarville, near the Soo, was killed while leaning over his gun. The charge entered his breast. Leo Dishaw, of Ewen, was shot while hunting near Tula. The ball struck him in the right side and tore a gash about three inches long just outside the ribs. The shot was fired by an unknown hunter. John LaValley, of Ford River, had his left hand blown off when the barrel of the gun with which he was hunting burst. A man by the name of Kanuteson, 50, of Charlevoix county, shot himself with a shot gun with fatal results. George Stevens of Groveland, near Iron River, was shot by the accidental discharge of his brother's gun and lay in the woods a day and a night while the brother went for help. He is in a critical condition from loss of blood and exposure.
