Dec. 8. It is a girl and weighs a pound and a half. For removing a package from the Soo Line station at Ironwood, Mattilo Jassilo of Hurley was sentenced to 50 days in the county jail at Bessemer by Judge J.J. Shea. The package contained wearing apparel consigned to Mrs. Harry Beaton of Ironwood. Three youths were arrested on a charge of stealing $30 worth of merchandise from the Selin hardware store at Bessemer. They gave their names as Mike and Joseph Grondek and John Muskovitz. On being found guilty in Judge Buck's court they were sentenced to a term in the reformatory. John Wiercinski, the Hurley cigar maker, left last Saturday for Tucson, Ariz., where he will spend the winter in a sanitarium for the benefit of his health.
