S. Kennedy, 72, of 203 Vaughn St., died early this morning at her residence. She had been in ill health for the past 20 years and was confined to a wheelchair. She was born July 1, 1886, at Nebraska City, Neb. She was married to James S. Kennedy in Nebraska and the couple came to Ironwood in 1905 and had since resided here. Mr. Kennedy, a former city managerr here, died Dec. 5, 1941. Mrs. Kennedy was an active member of the Ironwood Women's Club prior to her illness and also a golfer and member of the Gogebic Country Club. She held the owmen's golf championship at the local course about 1931. Surviving are three sons, Karstens of Bismarck, N. D., Roberrt of Grand Rapids, Minn., and James of Ironwood; three sisters, Miss Josephine Karstens of Los Angeles, Mrs. Nora Patterson of Sepulveda, Calif., and Mrs. Hiram Miller of Omaha; and five grand children. The body is at the McKevitt-Kershner Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
