Roy was fatally injured when the North Western passenger train, out of Ironwood at 8:30, ran her down near Lac Du Flambeau. Both legs were amputated and although Dr. Sincock attended her a few minutes after the accident, there was no hope of saving her life. The woman is a resident at the Indian reservation at Odanah and was walking on the track toward her home when she was struck. The train was brought to a standstill within a short distance and a party went back to render first aid. Besides having her legs cut off she suffered from bruises and shock.
