Jan 6, 1960 Mrs. Whitman Dies Early Today Wakefield - Mrs. Harry R. Whitman, 73, of 114 Best Rd., died at 12:40 a.m. today at Divine Infant Hospital, where she had been a patient two days. The former Ardelia Myrtle Wilton was born April 9, 1986 at Serwing, Wis. She attended school and was graduated from the high school there. She lived at Milwaukee six years, being employed for two years by the Metropolitan Insurance Co. and four years at the Old Soldiers Home. She worked six years as a cook on a railroad. In 1920 she moved to Silverton, Wis., and was married Feb. 5, 1920 to Harry R. Whitman. They moved to Gogebic County in 1931 and moved here six years ago. Surviving, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Jalida Joosten or Redwood City, Calif., one son, Grover C. Whitman of St. Cloud, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Michael Moore of Wabeno, Wis., Mrs. Guy Cox of Shawano, Wis., and Mrs. Clinton Londo of Thomaston; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Lakeside Memorial Chapel will open Thursday night at 7 and funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel. The Rev. James Ritchie of the Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
