Veda Reichard - Died 19 Aug. 1990 --- Luray, VA. - Veda (Vandervort) Reichard, 
102, a native of Traverse City, died Sunday at Life Care Center in New Market, 
VA. --- A 1913 graduate of Dennison University in Grandville, Ohio, she had 
been employed as a grade school principal and Sunday school teacher for many 
years in Minnesota. She also was superintendent of religious daily education in 
schools in Minneapolis. --- An avid conservationist, she was a member of the 
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Great Books Society and the 
Audubon. --- Born in Traverse City on Jan. 14, 1888, she was the daughter of 
John and Ada (Meade) Vandervort. In 1914 in Minnesota, she married Clifford E. 
Reichard, who preceded her in death. --- She also was preceded in death by a 
brother, Hugh Vandervort. --- Surviving are a son Clifford E, Reichard Jr. of 
Puma Gorda, Fla., a daughter, Jane Ann Moody of Luray, VA.;  10 grandchildren 
and 19 great-grandchildren. --- Cremation has taken place. September memorial 
services will be held at the Mayfield Chapel. Arrangements were made by Kyger 
and Trobaugh Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA. --- Memorials may be directed to 
the Mayfield Chapel, Mayfield, Mich. 49666.
