Bad liquor was. held responsible for the death o! Earl Vandervoort, 41, of Kingsley, which took place between seven and eight o'clock Easter morning at the Burns & Wynkoop garage on State street. The cause was so apparent that Coroner H. B, Kyselka, Sheriff David Core and Prosecutor Sherman Eaton decided an inquest unnecessary Vandervoort, who was the father four young children, formerly lived in Traverse City recently moving his wife and family to Kingsley He had, at various times, been employed as an automobile salesman by local firms. Late Saturday evening Vandervoort came into the Burns & Wynkoop garage and it was seen that he had been drinking. He sat around the garage during the night, although urged to go on home. He complained of being ill and two physicians were called but both said he would be all right as soon as the liquor wore off. Sunday morning Vandervoort was found on the floor of the garage, dead. Coroner Kyselka was summoned, along with other county officers and decided that the cause of death was so obviously bad whiskey that an inquest would be unnecessary.
