      PHOENIX, Ariz. - Gladyce (Wright) Ankerson died Sept. 24 in Phoenix, 
Ariz. Born in Cassopolis in 1920 to John and Edna Wright, she spent most of her 
adult life in the Traverse City area, moving to Arizona five years ago.
      As a birthright member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker), she 
served as pianist, organist, treasurer, recording clerk, youth leader and on 
numerous committees.
      Her husband, Donald Ankerson, preceded her in death,
      
      A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 3, at Long Lake 
Friends Church in Traverse City.
      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the ministry Friends 
of the Light, 206 Oak. St., Traverse City, MI 49684.
