Brown b. 1913 d. 2002 ----------------------------------- Death Record Search - Grand Traverse County, Michigan BROWN, JOHN W 07-28-1962 ----------------------------------- -------------------------------------- EMMA L. BROWN, 89, of Muskegon and formerly of Traverse City, died the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 in Muskegon. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A complete obituary will appear in Wednesday's edition of the Record- Eagle. ---------------------------------------- Emma L. Brown Died August 25, 2002 MUSKEGON - Emma L. Brown, 89, of Muskegon, and formerly of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, in Muskegon. She was born May 14, 1913, in Traverse City, to Charles and Emma (Lambert) Durga. In 1929, she married John W. Brown, in Traverse City. Emma was employed as a licensed psychiatric attendant nurse for 25 years, retiring in 1972. Emma is survived by her son, Lloyd (Betty) Brown of Shelbyville, Ill., and her two daughters, Evelyn (Keith) Kruger of Traverse City, and Esther (Thomas) Cook of Norton Shores; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Brown of Boyne City; her brother, Joseph (June) Durga of Eckerman; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Philip Douglass officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Long Lake Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Muskegon/Oceana Counties, or to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
