Riehl Died March 16, 1999 ALANSON - Margery L. Riehl, 71, of Alanson, died Tuesday at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Margery was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Lansing, the daughter of Everett and Pearl Emerson. She grew up in Traverse City and was a graduate of Traverse City High School, class of 1946. On October 27, 1946, she married Vern Riehl in Traverse City. In 1949 Margery and Vern moved to Petoskey. In the late 1960s Margery began working for the Petoskey public school system as a secretary She retired in 1984. Margery's greatest source of pride was her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Margery was a member of the Petoskey United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Petoskey Whirl-a-ways square dancing club as well as a member of the Outboard Club. Margery is survived by her husband Vern; and their children, Everett and his wife, Shonny of Harbor Springs, Paul and his wife, Kathi of Bay City, Margo Bouchard and her husband, Paul of Petoskey; her daughter-in-law, Cathy "Katie" Riehl of Boyne City; eight grandchildren, Tyra, Hillary, Arik, Frances, PauI, Andrea, Nicholas, and Adam; her sister, Elaine Cadmus of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott, in 1991. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Petoskey United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Mitchum will officiate.
