Published in the Record-Eagle on 4/3/2007. ------------------------------------------------------- Rittenhouse, Delbert Earl TRAVERSE CITY — Delbert Earl Rittenhouse, 90, of Traverse City, died on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Birchwood Nursing Home. Delbert was born on Aug. 6, 1916, in Muncie, Ind., to Worley and Icey Rittenhouse. He worked on the Grand Traverse Road Commission for many years. He also enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, birds and making people smile. Surviving Delbert are his son, Delbert; daughter-in-law, Ruth Rittenhouse; grandchildren, Mark Rittenhouse, Tami (Daniel) Bohn, Jeff (Christine) Rittenhouse, Joann (Jeff) Knudsen and Randy (Meagan) Rittenhouse; and six great- grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his brother, David; his sister, Josephine Lockwood; and his son, Leo Rittenhouse. A graveside service for Delbert will take place on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 2 p.m., at the Linwood Cemetery, with Tim Moeggenberg officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice House. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Birchwood Assisted Living for their special care.
