Fulton lost a man who has been prominently identified with the township for thirty years. Mr Stead was born in Macomb county, Michigan in 1867. He came to Fulton at the age of eighteen. At the age of twenty-one, he married Miss Jennie Burnett of Fulton. She died the following February, leaving one son, L.G. Stead who survives him. In 1893, he was married to Alice Price of Fulton who survives him. He held several different township offices and at the time of his death was Village Clerk and Justice of the Peace and also manager of the telephone office. He was a member of the Masonic and I.O.O.F lodges. He was a man of strong personality, active and energetic in all he undertook. A good citizen and a kind neighbor. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Sunday at 10:eo. Rev. J.G.Blery officiating. He was laid to rest in the Fulton center cemetery. He is survived by a wife, son and grandson and two brothers, Irvin of Ithaca and Elmer of fulton and a host of friends. The relatives have the sympathy of the whole community.
