Headstone located in Old Part Section 2 Lot 52

Note: Civil War records show George J. Corwin enlisted at the age of 24 on 08 
Feb 1862 as a Private in Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI and survived the war.  
Enlisted in Company F, Michigan 4th Cavalry Regiment on 28 Aug 1862 and 
mustered out on 01 July 1865 at Nasvhille, TN.

His death certificate show he was the son of Parker Corwin and Elizabeth 
Tuttle (both of NY), male, white, married, farmer, born January 30, 1839 NY 
and died on July 20, 1914 St. Louis, Gratiot Co., MI at the age of 77 years 
and 10 days, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage due to vehicular accident.  
Informant was Mrs. George Corwin and burial was on August 1, 1914 Oak Grove, 
St. Louis, MI    

Cemetery records also show Clara Adelia Corwin buried in the same plot as 
George J. Corwin and no headstone.  Her death certificate shows she was the 
daughter of Lorin Root of Holland and Sarah Porter (Rochester, NY), female, 
white, widowed, husband G. J. Corwin, housewife, born August 9, 1835 at 
Victor, NY and died on July 13, 1918 St. Louis, Gratiot Co., MI at the age of 
82 years, 11 months and 4 days, cause of death paraylsis due to cerebral 
hemorrhage.  Informant Fannie Corwin.  Burial was on July 15, 1918 St. Louis, 
Mich.
