Note:  Herman P. Jewell was the son of Walter and Jennie (Crousgrow) Jewell 
born in Shiawassee Co., MI.  He was in the U.S. Armed Forces and a farmer.  He 
married Letha Fay Swartz on September 23, 1944 in Breckenridge, Gratiot Co., 
MI. From this union they had 8 children; four now deceased, Herman P. Jewell 
Jr. (May 13, 1944), Hermany Anthony Jewell (July 22, 1988), George A. Jewell 
(March 8, 2004) and Earl Carl Jewell (January 3, 2006).

Herman Jewell passed away suddenly at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, 
Gratiot Co., MI at the age of 82.

Letha Fay (Swartz) Jewell was the daughter of Peter William and Henreitta 
Rosetta (Gault) Swartz.  She was born December 27, 1922 in Saint Louis, 
Gratiot Co., MI and passed away August 18, 1984 at University Hospital in Ann 
Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI at the age of 61 due to injuries sustained in an 
automobile accident that occurred on May 22, 1984 at the intersection in 
Shepherd, Isabella Co., MI.  She was a passenger and they were hit by another 
vehicle that failed to yield.
