Additional Comments:
This is the headstone for Samuel Epler and it is next to the headstone for his 
wife, Effie Epler. (They are separated only by an urn.) The middle 
initial, "A" is confusing as newpaper articles refer to him as Samuel "H" 
and "H" is what the middle initial appears to be in the 1880 Census. According 
to census reports he and his parents were born in Pennsylvania. There is a 
baptism record for Samuel Herman Epler born Nov 3, 1862 in Hamburg, PA whose 
parents were also born in PA. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of this 
family can clarify this issue.
