Maple Rapids Dispatch, April 4 1889
On Tuesday, April 2d, 1889, occurred the wedding of Arthur E. Stead and Miss 
Matie J. Burnett. 
At the time appointed, a small company of invited friends and relatives of the 
bride and groom gathered at the residence of the bride's father, A. Burnett in 
Fulton, to witness the ceremony and enjoy the feast of good things prepared for 
the occasion.
The bridal party supported by W.E. Warner, groomsman, and Mrs. Celia Warner, 
bridesmaid, preceded by C.E. Watson, the officiating clergyman, took their 
places and just as the ceremony was being pronounced, the clock struck one.  
The wedded pair was soon introduced tot he guests who extended hearty 
congratulations; and then followed an elegant dinner, which was relished by all.
A few fleeting moments were spent in social converse, and in listening to vocal 
and instrumental music, and an excellent and appropriate recitation by Mrs. 
C.E. Watson; and the company repaired to their respective homes after bestowing 
their presents on the happy couple.
