Benson Dead C.L. Benson, well known in North Adams and vicinity, Died Monday morning, Dec. 19, 1910, at his farm home in Jefferson township of pneumonia after an illness of one week. Deceased was born April 25, 1843, in the township of Moscow where he lived with his parents until November 30, 1864, at which time he was united in marriage to Esther Ann Fishell. Two daughters were born to this union, Mrs. Frank Holcomb and Mrs. George Lauder, who with the wife survive him. He also has one brother, E.R. Benson, and four sisters, Miss Florence Benson of this place, Mrs. Henry Kerman of Somerset township, Mrs. R. Whittaker of Wayne Co., Iowa, and Mrs. Cornelius Haight of Moscow township. Mr. Benson spent his entire life in Hillsdale county, excepting the years that he lived in Tennessee. He was converted when a young man and lived a christian life, and was a man with a large circle of friends. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church in this vicinity Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. ...rill officiating. Internment was in the North Adams cemetery.
