UNCLE SETH BETTS, PROBABLY OLDEST MAN IN THE COUNTY, DIED EARLY THIS MORNING. Seth Betts died early this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Niblack, north Main street, at the age of 97 years, 1 month and 17 days, his affliction being la grippe. He had been in declining health the past winter, but prior to that he had enjoyed remarkably good health all his life and was a wonderfully active and well preserved old man. He was born near Albany, N.Y., and that state was his home for 65 years, he having moved to Michigan 82 years ago. his wife died eleven years ago after a married life of over 60 years. Eight children were born to them, of whom one son and two daughters survive. Mr. Betts was a life-long democrat, having cast his first vote for Andrew Jackson in 1832, and he had voted at every presidential election but one since then. Funeral services will be held at the Niblack home Friday at 10 o'clock and the remains taken to Cambria for burial.
