Laser, 70, Dies Suddenly PITTSFORD - Mrs. Bessie Rowena Laser, 70, a lifelong resident of 1176 Tamarack Rd., in Wright Township, died Wednesday evening at 7 at Hillsdale Community Health Center soon after admittance. Mrs. Laser became ill while working at the Lickly's Corners Methodist Church restaurant tent at the fairgrounds. She had been active in the project at the fairgrounds for many years. She was immediately taken by ambulance to the health center. Death was caused by a coronary thrombosis. Mrs. Laser taught school in Wright Township for 50 years. She had served as a substitute teacher in Pittsford Rural Agricultural Schools recently. She was graduated from Pittsford High School in 1903 and received her teaching certificate the same year. She was active in the work of the Lickly's Corners Methodist Church and served as organist and president of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was a 50-year member of Pomona Grange, representative of Wright Township to Woman's Congress and treasurer of the Pittsford Alumni Association. She was born in Jefferson Township Aug. 30, 1886 a daughter of Edgar and Sarah Shean Wilson. On June 24, 1908, she married Elmer C. Laser who survives. Also surviving are a son, Harold Laser of 1151 Tamarack Road, and two granddaughters, Marlene Laser of Columbia City, Ind. and Sandra Laser, at home. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Lickly's Corners Methodist Church. The Rev. A.D. Wright of North Adams, assisted by the Rev. Roman Butler of Osseo, will officiate. The body of Mrs. Laser was taken from the Dutcher Chapel in Hillsdale to the home on Tamarack Road this afternoon. A prayer service will be conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 2.
