Hudson Post - 6 Dec. 1912
Sampson Pixley died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Will Saltgraber. He was 
86 years old and one of the oldest settlers in the township. Funeral services 
were held Tuesday.

Sampson Pixley was born in New York in 1826 and moved to Michigan in 1835. He 
married Mary Jane Thompson in 1855, She died in 1862. They had four children, 
Mrs. Lucinda Kelley, Lansing, Mrs. Alzina Helmick, Jackson, Mrs. Dell Kelley, 
Hudson One son died in infancy,  Lily Saltzgiber of Prattville. Mr. Pixley was 
the last of his family of 19 children. His was the second family that came to 
this part of Michigan, He died at the home of his daughter's, Mrs. William 
Saltzgiber, aged 86.
