Hillsdale Daily News Sat Oct 21, 1944
Sarah Stott age 81 died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Roy McKenzie of North 
Adams, Hillsdale Co., MI.  Mrs. Stott was born 3 April 1860 in Ohio but came to 
Hillsdale at a young age and lived all her life there.  Her husband died in 
1931 (this was Hollis Wyman STOTT although the obituary does not list his 
name).  Besides her daughter she is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna PASYNE and 
Mrs. Melinda OGLE and 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Additional Comments:
Sarah was the daughter of Almira JONES and was raised by Almira's second 
husband, Matthias A. LEONARD, the youngest of the 4 brothers who came from NY 
to Hillsdale as early pioneers: Henry B., Chauncey, and William Stacy LEONARD 
were his older brothers. Almira and Matthias had 4 daughters of their own: 
Esther(wed WYATT), Mary Etta (wed George ROSE and then Lawrence CHASE), 
Georgianna (wed Manley PAYNE), and Desdemona Melinda (wed last Josiah OGLE)
