HANCOCK.
   Incorporated as a city in 1903; has a population of over 5,000 and a
population tributary of over 13,000. It is one of the important mining cities in
the Copper Country. The location of the Quincy copper mine, one of the most
prosperous in the Upper Peninsula; also of the Franklin, Junior, and of the
Arcadian mines.
