Mrs. Hubert Turenne, wife of the Lake View Dairyman, died at her home on January first after a lingering illness. Mrs. Turenne was born at Eagle River 46 years ago, and has been a resident of the copper country all her life. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, and two daughters and sons, they being Mrs. Thomas Valverly of Red Jacket, Mrs. Arvid Westerberg of Rochester, Minn., and Hubert, Jr. and William, both of Calumet. She also leaves one sister and two brothers, Mrs. William Pomeroy of Lake Linden, Matthew of Calumet and John of Beaver Bay, Minn. The funeral took place form Sacred Heart church on Monday last with interment in Lake View. Mrs. Turenne was a daughter of one of the old settlers of the Keweenaw County, Benjamin Hirsch, who died a few years ago at Centennial Mine.
