HURON DAILY TRIBUNE, Bad Axe, Huron County, Michigan Local Obituaries Week of November 28, 1999 Michael Misico Michael "Mike" Misico, 88, of Farmington passed away on Dec. 1, 1999, following a long illness. Mike is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilkinson of Livonia; one sister, Mary Thompson of Canton; one brother, John J. Misico of Ubly. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at the Will Funeral Home in Farmington. John Lockman John E. "Jack" Lockman, 87, of Port Austin and formerly of Detroit, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. He was born on May 23, 1912, in Detroit, the son of the late Edward John and Barbara (McGardle) Lockman, of Kinde and Port Austin, respectively. John and Eileen Williams were married on Nov. 15, 1947, at Presentation Church in Detroit. Surviving are his wife, Eileen, of Port Austin; one daughter, Linda Brennan of Port Austin; one son, Edward Lockman and his wife, Joyce, of Marshall; two grandchildren, Kim Lockman and Kelley Koenig, both of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Angell. A Mass of Resurrection will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Kinde. The Rev. Fr. Michael Bell of St. Michael's Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Felix Cemetery. Irene O'Berski Irene Rose O'Berski, 83, of Bad Axe and formerly of Parisville, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Huron Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born on Sept. 2, 1916, in Parisville, the daughter of the late Francis and Rose (Peyerk) Schefka. She married Roman O'Berski on Sept. 29, 1934, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1981. She is survived by three daughters, Rose Mary Glass and her husband, William, of Kalamazoo, Diane Gatson and her husband, Paul, of Horton, Ore., Pamela Deering and her husband, Bryan, of Bad Axe; one son, James O'Berski and his wife, Gail, of Commerce Township; 15 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; one brother, Casimer Schefka of Ubly. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary, on March 27, 1984, and her sister-in-law, Frances Schefka on June 1, 1997. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Irving Baranski Irving Joseph Baranski, 72, of Nokomis, Fla. and formerly of Gross Pointe Shores, died Nov. 29, 1999. He is survived by two daughters, Bunny L. Carroll of Marriesburg, Miss., and Linda Booth of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Bill Baranski of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a stepson, Russell Mann of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, LaVerne Haskel of Port Austin; his mother, Agnes Morehouse of Port Austin; four grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Sarasota, Fla. Entombment will be in Sarasota Memorial Park. Jerome Stacer Jerome M. Stacer, 72, of Ruth died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in Covenant Health Care- Harrison in Saginaw. He was born on June 27, 1927, in Ruth to Anthony and Anna (Volmering) Stacer. He married Delores Nelson Wright Feb. 15, 1972, in Lexington. Jerome is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Anna Marie Stacer of Chambersburg, Pa., Jeffrey Jerome Stacer of Grand Rapids, Donald M. Wright and his wife, Lori, of Ostrander, Ohio, Thomas N. Wright of East Lansing; a sister, Juanita Clor of Ruth; brothers, Harold Stacer of Ruth and Merlin Stacer and his wife, Magdalene, of Ruth; sisters-in-law, Cecilia Stacer of Bad Axe and Lucille Stacer of Ruth; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant sisters, Adelaide Louise and Lucille Louise; brothers, Wilfred Stacer in 1971, Robert Stacer in 1993, and Quentin Stacer in 1997. Armstrong, 65, of Bad Axe passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. She was born on Sept. 12, 1934, in New York, N.Y., daughter of Irene (Chamberlain) Pangborn and the late Ward V. Pangborn. She married D. Paul Armstrong in the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her mother, Irene Pangborn of Bad Axe; two daughters, Linda Severino and her husband, James, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sharon Armstrong and her friend, David Cook, of Bad Axe; two sisters, Mereta Terjesen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Edith Edwards and her husband, Clark, of Bad Axe; two brothers, Lynwood Pangborn and his wife, Sharon, of Bad Axe and Wayne Pangborn and his wife, Mary, of Durham, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jan Dykshoorn, pastor of the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. Mildred Azarovitz Mildred H. Azarovitz, 70, of Madison Heights died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Courtney Manor formerly Four Seasons Healthcare Center in Bad Axe. She was born on Dec. 25, 1928, in Huron County, daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Cox) Taylor. In 1948, Miss Mildred "Mona" Taylor and William Azarovitz were united in marriage in Detroit. Surviving family members are one daughter, Pamela Helen O'Dell and husband, Joe, of Madison Heights; two sons, Patrick William Azarovitz and his wife, Kathy, of Filion and Mark Eugene Azarovitz and his wife, Dawn, of Clifford; 10 grandchildren, Ricky, Andrew, Dan, Sarah, Shannon, Angela, Jenna, Stephanie, April and Katlin; three sisters, Betty Wolfe of Marlette, Neita Braun and her husband, Bert, of Elkton and Lois Jean Rowlette of Hazel Park; two brothers, Bob Taylor and his wife, Dorothy, of East Tawas and Duane Taylor and his wife, Lorraine, of Caseville; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery. Leigh Wilson Leigh Wilson, 89, of Deford died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, in Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City with the Rev. David Mercer of Deford Community Church officiating. Interment will be in East Dayton Cemetery in Caro. Marjorie Baird Marjorie Gloria Baird, 66, of Bad Axe died unexpectedly at Spectrum Health Downtown in Grand Rapids. She was born on Jan. 26, 1933, in Speaker Township near Yale. She was the daughter of Zota (Murray) Hinkley and the late George Hinkley. She was a graduate of Marysville High School. Miss Marjorie Hinkley and Mr. Don Baird were married on July 11, 1953, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Lake Port. They were married for 46 years. Surviving are her husband, Don, of Bad Axe; two sons, Dr. Don Baird and his wife, Carol, of Delray Beach, Fla., and Jim Baird and his wife, Judy, of Bad Axe; two daughters, Diane Patterson and her husband, Patrick, of Caseville and Jean Pfeifle and her husband, Tom, of Petosky; seven grandchildren, Alison Baird, Ashley Baird, Stephanie Baird, Jimmy Baird, Jennifer Pfeifle, Katie Pfeifle and Nikki Pfeifle; her mother, Zota Hinkley of Marysville; five brothers, Dick Hinkley and his wife, Ann, of Tavares, Fla., Bud Hinkley and his wife, Betty, of Port Huron, Larry Hinkley and his wife, Eddie, of Tavares, Fla., Jim Hinkley and his wife, Nancy, of Port Huron and Ron Hinkley of Marysville; one sister, Janet Doan and her husband, Lester, of Port Huron; one sister-in-law, Poppy Goddard and her husband, John, of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews. Ervin Parker Ervin James Parker, 72, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at his home in Grass Lake under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at the First Methodist Church of Waterloo. Alex Fisher Alex J. Fisher Jr., 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, in Miami, Fla. He was born Dec. 27, 1928, to Alex and Catherine Fisher on the family farm near Caseville, the 11th of 14 children. On Jan. 30, 1954, he joined Shirley Kucharczyk-Cook in marriage. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Traverse City; a son, Edward Fisher and his family, Nancy, Shannon and Mitchell, of Traverse City; three daughters, Terry Punturo and her family, Bryan, Kimberly Gotts and Nicholas Gotts of Florida, Sherry Overholt and her family, Scott, Alexis and Ashlee, of Traverse City, and Kelly Greilick and her family, Craig, Kayla and Carly of Traverse City; five brothers, Ray Fisher and his wife, Maxine, Tom Fisher and his wife, Tilly, Ben Fisher and his wife, Alice, Bob Fisher and his wife, Delores, and Clarence "Trigger" Fisher; three sisters, Dorothy Heleski, Virginia Coats and her husband, Gene, and Bernice McRae and her husband, Mac, all of the Thumb area. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter. Rachael Gomoluch Rachael "Annie" Gomoluch, 82, of Bad Axe died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe, following an extended illness. She was born July 7, 1917, in Filion, the daughter of the late Noah and Rachael (Ayotte) Tetreau. Miss Rachael Tetreau and Phillip J. Gomoluch were married on Nov. 26, 1935, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Kinde. He preceded her in death April 2, 1995. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Gomoluch and his wife, Susan, of Reese, Delwin Gomoluch and his wife, Judy, of Bad Axe and Edward Gomoluch and his wife, Debra, of Sturgis; three daughters, Veniece Shuart and her husband, Clark, of Filion, Phyllis Schelke and her husband, Jack, of Harbor Beach, Mary Blackstock and her husband, James, of Bad Axe; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; one sister, Sr. Ann Louise O.P., of Adrian; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Pawlowski of Parisville and Ann Gomoluch of Detroit; one brother-in-law, Tom A. Baranski of Kinde; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann; one sister, Josephine Denby; and one brother, Paul Tetreau. Jean Michalski, 54, of Deford passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, in Marlette Hospital. She was born July 31, 1945, in Cass City to William and Mae (Russell) Rolston. She married John R. Michalski on Feb. 29, 1964, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Jean is survived by her husband, John; children, Greg Michalski and his wife, Kim, of Deford, Jim Michalski and his wife, Lori, of Caro, Jeff Michalski and his special friend, Bonnie Adams, of Cass City, and Kathy Schram and her husband, Jim, of Cass City; grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, Brian, Elizabeth, Katie, Erik and Adam Michalski; brothers and sisters, Delores Damm and her husband, Lloyd, of Gagetown, Duncan Rolston and his wife, Bonita, of Bad Axe, Betty Stephenson and her husband, George, of Bad Axe, Dennis Rolston and his wife, Bonnie, of Cass City; Robert Rolston and his wife, Nancy, of Gagetown; Debra Rolston of Bad Axe, Dianne Prill and her husband, Ed, of Kinde, Tanya Terbush and her husband, Jim, of Cass City; and many nieces and nephews. Interment is in Novesta Township Cemetery. Thelma Neuman Thelma D. Neuman, 86, of Sebewaing died Friday afternoon, Nov. 26, 1999, at Bay Medical Center in Bay City following a one-and-a-half year illness. She was born July 29, 1913, in Sebewaing, daughter of the late Adolph Henry and Anna Maria (Gall) Neuman. Surviving are three sisters, Ruth Neuman, Elsie Baur and Esther Scheiwe, all of Sebewaing; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Albert and Edgar Neuman. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 1999, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. The Rev. Charles Kuhl will officiate with burial in the Northlawn Cemetery. Beverly Tyler Beverly J. Tyler, 67, of Livonia and formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at her daughter's home in Livonia following a long illness. She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Harbor Beach to the late Jack and Ida (Swayze) McAllister. Beverly is survived by three daughters, Ida Huey of Harbor Beach, Beverly Street of Livonia and Hope Simon of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Swayze of Farmington Hills. A funeral service took place Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, in the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. The Rev. Clarence VanConant, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated and the burial was in Forest Bay Cemetery, near Harbor Beach. Robert Schultz Robert F. Schultz, 76, of Sebewaing died Friday morning, Nov. 26, 1999, at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. He was born April 14, 1923, in Detroit to the late Walter and Marie (Newton) Schultz. On Aug. 11, 1945, he was united in marriage to Valeria C. Rowell in Muskogee, Okla. Surviving are his wife, Valeria; his son, Paul Schultz and his wife, Joy; his daughter, Carol Reige and her husband, Mike, all of Sebewaing; three grandchildren, Stacie Barringer and her husband, Mike, Bridget Reige and Matthew Schultz; and one great-grandson, Jack Barringer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. The Rev. Charles Kuhl, pastor emeritus, will officiate with burial and military honors at the church cemetery. 1
