HURON DAILY TRIBUNE, Bad Axe, Michigan Local Obituaries Week of July 2, 2000 Lenora Matthews Lenora Jean Matthews, 62, of Caseville Township passed away Monday, July 3, 2000, at her home. She was born in Peck on Nov. 27, 1937, the daughter of the late William and Verna (Schavallia) Liebler. On Dec. 31, 1978, she was united in marriage to Marvin O. Matthews in Algonac. He survives her. Mrs. Matthews was employed by the Ford Motor Co. Chesterfield Plant for 20 years until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed being with her family, especially hunting and fishing with her husband. She is survived by her husband, Marvin O. Matthews, Sr.; her children, Douglas Hendershot, Jr., of Sandusky, Roxane Norton and her husband, Dale, of Algonac, Michael Hendershot and his wife, Debbie, of Avoca, Mark Hendershot of Yale, Lyn Nuno and her husband, Dino, of California, and Jeff Matthews and his wife, Kathryn, of Royal Oak; 17 grandchildren; her brothers, Robert Liebler of Centerline and William Liebler and his wife, Linda, of Eastpointe; a sister, Joan Bidolli and her husband, Michael, of Sand Point; and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, private services will take place. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were conducted by the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon. Wayne Clark Wayne Lester Clark, 46, of Elkton died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Duane Walters Hospital following a long battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Bad Axe to Lester C. Clark and the late Maxine (Eisinger) Clark. On Dec. 1, 1979, he was united in marriage to Diane Shepherd in Bad Axe. Wayne attended Laker High School and became a carpenter and builder. He did carpenter work throughout the state and in Colorado. He enjoyed hunting and drawing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Surviving are his children, Josh Clark of Owendale and Trisha Clark of Pigeon; his father, Les Clark of Lake Township; his brother, John Clark and his wife, Kathy, of Lake Township; three sisters, Charlotte Morley and her husband, Lee, of Elkton, Irene Schmitt of Caseville and Deb Hamlin of Leslie; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. The Rev. DeWeerd Smith, pastor of the Community Wesleyan Church, will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Ernest Trost Ernest J. Trost, 91, of Pigeon died today, Monday, July 3, 2000, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral home suggests listening to WLEW radio for more information. Watson Robinson Watson B. Robinson, 68, of Harbor Beach passed away Thursday, June 29, 2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw following a brief illness. Watson was born on June 7, 1932, in Harbor Beach to the late Vernon and Beatrice (Chickenoski) Robinson. He and Phyllis Terrill were married on May 23, 1996, in Harbor Beach. Phyllis passed away Feb. 26, 1998. Watson was an employee of the City of Harbor Beach for 27 years, retiring in 1994 from the Water Treatment Plant. He was a veteran of the Korean War in the Tropic Lightning Platoon of the 25th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 197 and the VFW Post No. 9344, both of Harbor Beach. Watson also enjoyed being a member of the Rapson Sportsman Club. He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Watson is survived by his nephew, Robert Robinson; a niece, Susan Osiborski; and three great-nephews, Scott Robinson and Christopher and Steven Osiborski. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Robinson. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with the Rev. Edward Konieczka officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery with military honors. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 this evening in Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
