HURON DAILY TRIBUNE, Bad Axe, Michigan Local Obituaries Week of July 9, 2000 Sarah Kreh Sarah I. Kreh, 89, of Pigeon and formerly of Port Huron, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon following a long illness. She is survived by a niece, Janet Black and her husband, Charles, of Crystal Lake, Ill.; nephews, Bernard L. Kreh Jr. and his wife, Iola, of Caro, Frederick G. Kreh and his wife, Ann, of Traverse City, Edward C. Kreh and his wife, JoAnn, of Breckenridge and Thomas A. Kreh and his wife, Brenda, of Pigeon; a sister, Lillian Cloutier of Ludington; several great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon with the Rev. Edward Kreh officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Carol Plonta Carol Plonta, 38, of Pigeon died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at the home of her parents in Caseville Township while under hospice care. She is survived by her husband, Scott; one son, Tim Thompson; one daughter, Nikki Thompson, both at home; one step-son, Chris Plonta; one step-daughter, Amanda Plonta, both of Caseville; two brothers, Chuck Willis and his wife, Lisa, of South Lyon and Jim Willis of Muskegon; one sister, Sandra Chinavare and her husband, Glenn, of Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Farver Road Baptist Church in Grant Township. The Rev. Duane Plonta, pastor, will officiate with burial in the Grant Township Cemetery. Helen Van Erp Mrs. Helen M. Van Erp, 88, of Sheridan died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She is survived by four sons, Joseph and his wife, Carol, of Bad Axe, Albert of Henrietta, N.Y., Robert and his wife, Susan, of Bad Axe, and William and his wife, Kathleen, of Canton; six daughters, Marcella Campbell of Owosso, Mary Kubacki and her husband, Albert, of Ubly, Dorothy Schmidt and her husband, Robert, of Cass City, Agnes Zawilinski and her husband, Walter, of Cass City, Florence Briolat and her husband, Norman, of Carol Stream, Ill., Evelyn Schadd and her husband, Earl, of Filion; 40 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Van Erp of Minnesota; five brothers, Albert Boogaard, John Boogaard and his wife, Rosella, Henry Boogaard, William Boogaard and his wife, Evelyn, and Clarence Boogaard, all of Minnesota. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan. The Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mitchell Glasgow Mitchell Aaron Glasgow, 76, of Millington died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Rice and her husband, Kenneth, of Port Austin, Ruth Ann Hole and her husband, Vernon "Pete", of Newago, and Michelle Moody and her husband, George, of Port Hope; and two sons, David Glasgow and Albert Glasgow, both of Millington; five grandchildren; one great- grandchild; one sister, Agnes Schultz of Bad Axe; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Glasgow Woolner of Port Hope; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde, with burial in New River Cemetery. Jerry Harder Jerry D. Harder Sr., of Bay City and formerly of Bay Port, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in Bay Port. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2000, at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Bertha Sharbowski Bertha Sharbowski, 80, of Redford and formerly of Argyle Township, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2000, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Frieburg. The Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor of St. John Church in Ubly, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Helena Fietzer Helena H. Fietzer, 84, of Pigeon passed away Monday, July 10, 2000, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. She is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Fietzer of Farmington Hills; a son, Wayne Fietzer of Jasper; three grandchildren, Denise Middel and her husband, John, Dwayne Fietzer and Kristina Fietzer; two great-grandsons, Jared Middel and Devon Fietzer; her brothers and sisters, Wanda Smith of Pigeon, Clara Reid of Pigeon, Karl Renn and his wife, Irene, of Lincoln Park, Ida Thompson and her husband, Ervin, of Pigeon, Fred Renn and his wife, Olga, of Pigeon, and Harold Renn and his wife, Marilyn, of Elkton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon, with the Rev. Raymond Orth, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cass Abraham Mr. Cass Abraham, 78, of Ubly and Sebring, Fla., died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his residence after a long illness. He is survived by one daughter, Rosemary Abraham of Ubly; two sons, David Abraham of Champion, Dan Abraham and his wife, Cathy, of Snover; five grandchildren, Derek, Dustin, Danyella, Stacey and Brandy Abraham; one great-grandchild, Ariel Waterbeck; two sisters, Dorothy Elandt and her husband, Henry, of Bad Axe and Agnes Essenmacher and her husband, Art, of Harbor Beach; and a special friend, Norine Newbold of Sebring, Fla. Delbert Nieschulz Delbert Edwin Nieschulz, 58, of Bay Port passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Bay Port; a step-daughter, Andrea McBrayer and her husband, Randy, of Sebewaing; step- grandchildren, Kimberly, Jacob and Michael; his mother, Hilda E. Nieschulz of Caseville; sister, Carol Holtrop and her husband, Jim, of Bad Axe; nieces and nephews, Valerie, Joseph, Jessica and Nathan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Franklin and Selma Volz of Sebewaing. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Berne, with the Rev. James A. Gorsegner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Louise Schweitzer Louise E. Schweitzer, 79, of Grant Township died Saturday afternoon, July 8, 2000, at the Young at Heart AFC Home in Caro following a long struggle with heart disease. Surviving are two daughters, Gaye Gintner and her husband, Raymond, of Lapeer, and Rosalyn Snider and her husband, Kerry, of Middleville; her son, Brent Schweitzer and his wife, Jane, of Owendale; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Garrett will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Louise Jahr Louise (Lilly) Jahr, 92, of DeBary, Fla., and formerly of Sebewaing, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in Florida. A graveside memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing. Watson Robinson Watson B. Robinson, 68, of Harbor Beach passed away Thursday, June 29, 2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw following a brief illness. Watson is survived by his nephew, Robert Robinson; a niece, Susan Osiborski; and three great-nephews, Scott Robinson and Christopher and Steven Osiborski. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with the Rev. Edward Konieczka officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery with military honors. 1
