He was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Brown City to Charles A. and Elizabeth (Aune) Wright. He first married Patricia Gruber in Cass City. She died Sept. 30, 1985. He then married Janet Klinkman McGuire on Sept. 6, 1986. Richard served in the U.S. Army in the 1950's in Korea. Dick was employed by Walbro Corp. and worked at General Motors as an electrician. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and golf. Dick is survived by his wife, Janet; children Rodney Wright and his wife, Danean, of Cass City, Sherri Schulz and her husband, Werner, Jr., of Sebewaing, Dale Wright and his wife, Arlene, of Cass City, and Irene Holtslander and her husband, Tom, of Alaska; brothers and sisters, Charles Wright and his wife, Geraldine, of Lincoln Park, Gladys Jones of Houston, Texas, Sharon Guinther of Caro, Dalbert Wright and his wife, Nancy, of Cass City, John Wright and his wife, Louise, of Cass City, Darlene Peters of St. Louis, Katherine McPhail and her husband, Robert, of Cass City, Caroll Benjamin and her husband, William, of Woodlawn, Tenn, and Phillip Wright and his wife, Shirley, of Clarksville, Tenn.; grandchildren Kevin and Jennifer Spencer, Jason, Nicole, Amber and Andrew Wright, Michael and Kayla Wright, and Holly, Tracy, Tom and Jamie Holtslander; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Laura Mannarino; and brothers, James and Robert Wright. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, with the Rev. M. Louise Fritz, of Spiritual Macedonia Baptist Church of Bay City, officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Ernie McCrimmon Ernie McCrimmon, 70, of Caseville died this morning, Friday, March 31, 2000, while vacationing in Florida. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are being handled by Champagne Funeral Chapel in Caseville. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's Huron Daily Tribune. William Sweeney William Sweeney, 86, of Sheridan died on Thursday, March 30, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness. Arrangements are being handled by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Visitation is anticipated on Sunday with services planned for Monday, April 3, 2000. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's Huron Daily Tribune. Thaddeus (Ted) Bernat Thaddeus W. (Ted) Bernat, 57, of Caseville died Monday, March 27, 2000, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He is survived by his sons, Brian Bernat and his wife, Shondell, and Bradley; and his brothers, Edward, Arthur and his wife, Mary, and John. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at the David J. Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road (one block north of 12 Mile Road), Warren. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Julia Sanchez Julia H. Sanchez, 81, of Cass City died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, in Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City. She was born March 19, 1919, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Mary (Gumbos) Sanders. She married Clarence Nordquist in the Novesta Church of Christ in 1943. She married Manuel Sanchez in Wakefield on Dec. 31, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1982. Julia was a very spiritual woman. Her love for God allowed her to transcend love and to share this with her family and each person that she met. Julia also was a very generous person. She enjoyed sharing her love of gardening, canning and cooking with her specialty being apple pie. Julia is survived by her son, David Nordquist and his wife, Peggy, of Cass City; daughter Rosemary Ryals and her husband, Tom, of Homosassa Spring, Fla.; granddaughters, Lauren M., Nicole L., and Jeanne R. Coy, all of Homosassa Spring, Fla.; grandsons, Blair Michael Coy of Clearwater, Fla., and Christopher McConnell and his wife, Melissa, of Cass City; great- granddaughter, Rianna Fay McConnell; son-in-law, Nelson Blair Coy of Clearwater, Fla.; stepdaughters, JoAnn Izydorek and her husband, Chuck, of Cass City, Edith Wayman and her husband, Eric, of Decker; stepson, Roy Lee Hull and his wife, Joan, of Decker; dearest friend, Kurt Romisch of Sault Ste. Marie; special nephew, Milton L. Phillips and his wife, Brenda, of Cass City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Gyetvay, Mary Horvath and Betty Phillips Springstead; brother John Sanders; special niece Peggy Regnerus; and special friend Charles Ray Hull. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City, with Chuck Emmert officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers will be George, Timothy, Dennis and Paul Regnerus, Tom and Mark Teague, Kurt Romisch and Richard Rick. Arrangements were handled by Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Dorothy Simms Dorothy J. Simms, 95, of Pigeon died Monday evening, March 27, 2000, at Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born June 2, 1904, in Oregon, Wisc., the daughter of the late Dr. Herbert and Nora E. (Crakn) Hanan. She was united in marriage to Charles G. Simms on Oct. 26, 1927, in Oregon, Wisc. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1992. Dorothy graduated from the University of Wisconsin in art. She then studied art and was a commercial artist in New York City for some time. She later taught art in Oshkosh, Wisc., and Emerson Junior High School in Flint before retiring in 1962 and moving to Sand Point. She was a member of the University of Wisconsin, American Art Association and a former member of the Scenic Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed bridge and remained active in art. Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Grace Cilc of Caseville. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Florence Bennett, Nora Kivlin, Lucille Hanan, Helen Hippaka, Lillian Jackson; and two nephews. A graveside committal service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2000, at Caseville Township Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Weavil, pastor of the Moravian Church in Unionville, will officiate. James Nicholson James Lowell Nicholson, 71, of Harbor Beach passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at the Port Huron Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on April 30, 1928, in Port Huron, son of the late Lowell and Lillian (Loop) Nicholson. He married Frances Horiski-Polohaske on Sept. 5, 1992, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1999. He is survived by a son, Daniel Nicholson of Port Huron; and a sister, Marian DeMello and her husband, Harry, of San Diego, Calif. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. The Rev. Fr. Edward J. Konieczka, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dwight Township. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ramsey Funeral Home, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, in Harbor Beach. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Mildred VanHorn Mildred Elizabeth VanHorn, 93, of Kingston died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Marlette Community Hospital, Marlette. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Kingston Wesleyan Church with Dr. Rudyard Fay officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kranz Funeral Home in Kingston, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. John Murray John Joseph Murray, 70, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Mount Clemens General Hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Bad Axe. Mr. Murray was a former assistant Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney and retired as Chief Assistant Attorney in Warren after 19 years of service. Mr. Murray was also a former real estate broker and former student pilot. He was a candidate for Michigan Court of Appeals judge in 1980. Mr. Murray served as a Judge Advocate General officer in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit Law School in 1953. Mr. Murray was a resident of Clinton Township. He was a former resident of Port Richie, Fla. His wife, Estelle G. Murray, survives him. He is also survived by four sons, John J. Murray II, Mark, Kelly Patrick and Craig; two daughters, Colleen Farghum and Lynn Murray; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Joan Gilleran and Grace Murray. Burial has taken place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bad Axe. Funeral arrangements were handled by Wujek- Calcaterra and Sons Funeral Home in Sterling Heights. Eva Laming Mrs. Eva C. Laming, 94, of Argyle died Wednesday morning, March 29, 2000, at the Sanilac County Medical Care Facility in Sandusky. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. The Rev. Anthony Wozniak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Freiburg. There will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m. Friday at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Visitation will be 2 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Kimberly Neumann Kimberly D. Neumann, 30, of Unionville died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, in her home after a long illness. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2000, in Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City with the Rev. Don Miller of Harvest Baptist Church, Akron, officiating. Interment will be in Indianfields Township Cemetery, Caro. Pallbearers will be Richard Neumann, Mark Neumann, Mark Seddon, Daniel Seddon, Michael Essex and Brian Bolf. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Dorothy Leitch Dorothy May Leitch, 70, of Pinnebog died Monday afternoon, March 27, 2000, at her home. She was born Oct. 15, 1929, at the home of her grandparents in Meade Township. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Buelah (Lewis) Morgan. On Jan. 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Norman A. Leitch at the Pinnebog United Methodist Parsonage. Shortly thereafter they moved to Redford Township where she raised their four children. In August 1987, they moved back to the home where she grew up in Pinnebog. Dorothy was a member and treasurer of the Pinnebog United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling from Alaska to Europe. She also loved time spent with her family and friends, always "doing" for everyone else. Surviving are her husband, Norman; four children, Nancy Cockrell and her husband, James, of South Lyons, Janet Atkins and her husband, Ron, of Redford Township, Sharon Otley and her husband, Mark, of New Hudson, and Denis Leitch and his wife, Barbara, of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, Erin, Kevin, Brian, Eric, Amber, Becky, Nathan, Amanda, Caroline, Curtis, Brad and Derek; two brothers, Donald Morgan and his wife, Barbara, of Racine, Wisc., and Lowell Morgan of Pinnebog; and her sister, Ellen Hilborn and her husband, Ned, of Port Austin. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2000, at the Pinnebog United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Garrett, pastor, will officiate with burial in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Caseville, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to Huron Memorial Hospice or the church. Edna Stickney Edna May Stickney, 84, of Rapson, much-loved wife and mother, left this earth to go to her heavenly home on Monday, March 27, 2000. Assurance is based on her faith in the scripture, "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16.) She died at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe. She was born March 21,1916, in Verona Township to the late Daniel and Earie Ross. On Dec. 9, 1944, she was united in marriage to George Stickney. They were married in the Bad Axe Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Carnelius Van Dalen. They lived in Rapson for 55 years. She was a helpmate and wife to George, mother of two daughters, invested much in the lives of those who came across her path, and was a member of the Bad Axe Church of the Nazarene. Edna is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Linda Nyssen and her husband, Dan, of Cleveland, Tenn.; Darlene Stevenson and her husband, Tim, of Swartz Creek; five grandchildren, Zachary Stevenson of Swartz Creek, Chad Nyssen of Chattanooga, Tenn., Andrew Nyssen of Grand Rapids, and Sheena Stevenson and Adam Stevenson of Swartz Creek; one sister, Flossie Matuzek of Harrisville; four sisters-in-law, Mabel Lehndorff of Lapeer, Agnes Ross of Filion, Lottie Ross of Harrisville and Ella Ross of Barton City; and several nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by two sisters, Ella Schade and Myrtle Taylor; and seven brothers, Charley, Willis, Stanley, George, Elvin, Daniel and Frank Ross. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2000, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home of Bad Axe. Burial will be in the Verona Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Bad Axe Church of the Nazarene Mission Fund. Ethel Bauley Ethel A. Bauley, 59, of Sand Point died March 27, 2000, at her home following a long illness. She was born May 23, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa. to Edith (McKenzie) Henshall and the late Elmer Henshall. After college, she served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. On Aug. 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Raymond P. Bauley in Bethesda, Md., and came to Michigan a short time later. In 1988, they moved to Sand Point from Saginaw. She took a position at Scheurer Hospital as a lab technician, retiring in 1992. Surviving are her husband, Ray; three daughters, Dawn Pluto and her husband, Lonnie, of Birch Run, Robin Bauley of Lincoln Park and Tracy Swanson of Bay City; five grandchildren, Joe, Tony, Amber, Nicole and Zachary; her mother, Edith Henshall of Caseville; and her brother. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private service will be conducted for the family at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Caseville. Memorials may be given to Huron Memorial Hospice in Bad Axe. Mary Harrison Mary Harrison, 86, of Battle Creek died Sunday evening, March 26, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George (Janice) Desmarais, in Sebewaing. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Smith, 83, of Port Austin died this morning March 27, 2000 at American House in Lincoln Park. Carol Ann Faist Carol Ann Faist, 57, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Bay Medical Center in Bay City following a 10-year illness. She was born June 21, 1942 in Bay City, daughter of the late Ernest E. and Gertrude (LaPan) Grandmaison Sr. She was married to Clark James Faist on June 25, 1960, in Bay City. Carol was a self-employed health care worker before retiring five years ago due to ill health. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. She enjoyed knitting and making afghans and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Clark J. Faist of Pigeon; one son Jeffrey Faist and his wife, Heidi, of Owendale; one daughter, Tammy Siewert and her husband, James, of Pigeon; seven grandchildren, Aaron and Amanda Faist, Stephanie, Kellie, Michael, Jeremy and Courtney Siewert; one sister, Sharon Shore and her husband, Jerry, of Skidway Lake; one sister-in-law, Lucille Grandmaison of Georgia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Grandmaison Jr. The funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. The Rev. Raymond E. Orth will officiate with burial in Grand Lawn Cemetery in Pigeon. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today, noon to 9 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon. She will lie in state from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Church, Cross Lutheran School or Cross New Building Fund. Lucile Bush Lucile Bush, 87, of Caro went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2000, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on Aug. 18, 1912, at the family home in Cass City. The former Lucile Anthes was a graduate of Cass City High School and Tuscola County Normal. Lucile taught at rural schools near Cass City for eight years. She married Theron Bush on March 18, 1942 at a family home in Cass City and moved to the Bush family farm near Unionville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1962. Lucile went to work as a social worker in 1957 and continued until retiring in 1975. In April 1967, she left the farm and moved to Caro where she continued to live. On Feb. 8, 1968, she married Otto Bush and he also preceded her in death, on May 7, 1969. She was member of the Caro United Methodist Church, the United Women's Society and the Michigan State Retirees Association. Lucile was a very active grandmother and friend to many. She is survived by two daughters and one son, Ilene Neterer of Sandusky, Donna Hastings of San Rafael, Calif., and Donald Bush and his wife, Sharon, of Sandusky; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, one sister and two sisters-in-law, Paul Anthes and his wife, Ludie, of Conway, Ark., Alice Gottsleben and her husband, Edwin, of Bad Axe, and Josephine Marie Anthes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Susan (Race) Anthes, her husbands, Theron Bush and Otto Bush; one foster child, Patty Roberson; an infant sister, Lena; two brothers, Roy and Harold Anthes; and one granddaugher, Joanna Neterer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, at Caro United Methodist Church in Caro, with the Rev. Duane Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Moravian Cemetery in Unionville. Visitation will be from from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Caro United Methodist Church or the Unionville Moravian Church. Marion Kolar Mrs. Marion M. Kolar, 79, of Cass City, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Gladwin, the daughter of the late Albert and Sadie (Gibbard) Lang. She married Thomas Kolar on Jan. 24, 1942, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Palms. She was a graduate of Minden City Elementary School and a 1994 graduate of Homer High School at 74 years of age. She was a telephone operator for six years in Minden City and a clerk at Ed's Country Market at the Hog's Back. She was a former member of St. Ignatius Alter Society and a parishioner at St. Ignatius for 50 years. She resided on the family farm on Spencer Road in Greenleaf Township for 48 years. She moved to Homer in 1990 and lived there until 1995, when she moved to Cass City. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Kolar of Cass City; three daughters, Mrs. Mierial Gage and her husband, James of Goodrich, Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson and her husband, Lee, of Brooklyn, Mrs. Christine Slezak and her husband, Bruce, of Harrison Township; four grandsons; three granddaughters; one step- great granddaughter; one brother, Donald Lang and his wife, Marie, of Palms; one sister, Helen Oswald of Essexville. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary; four brothers, John, George, Dennis and Maurice Lang; one sister, Lucia Lang. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. The Rev. Anthony Wozniak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a parish wake service at 1:30 p.m. at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
