Engler, 76, of Bad Axe, who was deeply loved by her family, peacefully entered into heaven Friday, March 9, 2001, at the Huron Medical Care Facility after a long struggle with illness. Mrs. Engler was born June 10, 1924, in Detroit. She was united in marriage to Mr. Otto Engler on April 15, 1945, and the two were life-time residents of Bad Axe. Stella retired from the Department of Social Services. She enjoyed gardening and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bad Axe. Surviving Mrs. Engler are her husband, Otto Engler; 11 children: Alan Engler and his wife, Ellen, of Bad Axe, William Engler of Bad Axe, Eric Engler and his wife, Linda, of Cass City, Brian Engler of Bad Axe, Herb Engler of Bad Axe, Andrew Engler and his special friend, Wendy Marks, of Bad Axe, Edward Engler of Farmington Hills, Nancy Quirk and her husband, Richard, of Palm Harbor, Fla., Louise Nyquist and her husband, Steve, of Minneapolis, Jeannie Searching and her special friend, Lee Johnson, of Kingston, N.Y., and Cathy Ozorowitz and her husband, Andrew, of Cass City. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas, Jr., Frank, and Henry Krolikowski; and three sisters, Lillian Woodward, Frances Johnston and Jane Wooten. Stella was predeceased by a son, Kenneth John Engler, on Nov. 6, 1959; and one brother, Chester Krolikowski. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2001, at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bad Axe, with the Rev. Kenneth Lueke officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be offered to the Huron County Medical Care Facility or the Alzheimer's Association. MacAlpine Funeral Home of Bad Axe is handling the arrangements. Ruth Moeller Ruth E. Moeller, 82, of Harbor Beach passed away Friday, March 9, 2001, in the long term care unit of Harbor Beach Community Hospital following a long illness. Born in Harbor Beach on Aug. 29, 1918, she is the daughter of the late Henry and Lena (Schnell) Will. She and Floyd Moeller were married in Harbor Beach on Feb. 6, 1940. Floyd preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2001. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach. Ruth was a former school bus driver for Harbor Beach Community Schools for many years and was a former Avon representative and a real estate agent. Ruth is survived by a son, David Moeller, and his wife, Ethel, of Canton; three granddaughters, Kristen Moeller of Holly, Kimberly White of Holly, and Kelly Mikula of Interlochen; and one sister, Eleanor Nichols and her husband, Tony, of Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Long and Emma Winkel; and by five brothers, William, Walter, Elmer, Melvin and Louis Will. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2001, in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, with the Rev. Mark Girardin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery, Harbor Beach. There will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Agnes Morehouse Agnes C. Morehouse, 95, of Port Austin died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at her home. She was born Jan. 1, 1906, in Dwight Township, the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Knoblock. Agnes and August Baranski were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1923, at St. Michigan's Catholic Church in Port Austin. He preceded her in death, and she later married Thomas Morehouse. Agnes was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin, and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, The Port Austin Seniors, and the U & I Club. She is survived by her daughter, LaVerne Watts of Port Austin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grand-children; five step-great-great- grand-children; two sisters, Mary Navock of Port Austin, and Key Pogue and her husband, Ira, of Port Austin; one brother, Joe Knoblock, and his wife, Anna, of Dearborn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband August Baranski; her husband Tom Morehouse; one son, Irving Baranski; daughter-in-law Betty Baranski; two sons-in-law, Paul Hirschberger and Haskell Watts; one grandson, Bruce Hirschberger, one great-grandson, William White, Jr.; five brothers, Felix, Ignatz, Michael, Phillip, Walter, and Stanley Knoblock; and two sisters, Martina Watchowski and Anastasia Duda. Leonard Spencer Leonard M. Spencer, 70, of Cass City died Saturday, March 10, 2001, in his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2001, at Krantz Funeral Home in Cass City. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Monday, March 12, 2001 Virginia Draper Virginia Marie Draper, 74, of Clifford died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Draper has lived in the Clifford area most of her life and was previously from Bad Axe. She was born on April 30, 1926, in Bad Axe to the late Albert and Nettie (Paison) Mayhew. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1945. She married Charles B. Draper on Sept. 28, 1946, in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1977. Virginia was a former member of the Clifford United Methodist Church. She worked for Mayville Molding Co. and was a Nurses Aid at the Marlette Community Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She is survived by her sons, Charles Draper and his wife, Bev, of Imlay City and Edwin Draper and his wife, Linda, of Clifford; her daughters, Beth Charbeneau and her husband, Rod, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Ellen Comfort and her husband, Ken, of Addison, Ala., and Patricia Tatgenhorst and her husband, Glenn of Clifford; her brother, Frank Mayhew and his wife, Sue, of North Port, Ala.; her sisters, Doris Tianen and her husband, Carl, of Bad Axe and Margaret Chisholm and her husband, Don, of Cass City; her daughter-in-law, Lila Draper of Marlette; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; her father, Albert Mayhew; mother, Nettie Paison; and son Ron Draper. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, march 14, 2001, at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Pastor Daniel Bowman of Marlette United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Siple Cemetery in Marlette. Visitation will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 1 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette. Carol McMullen Carol Lou McMullen, 72, resident of Bad Axe, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. Mrs. McMullen was born on July 16, 1928 in Bay City to the late Louis and Luella (Fournier) Mason. Miss Carol Mason and Donald McMullen were united in marriage on April 10, 1948. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 10, 1998. Mrs. McMullen was a graduate of Bad Axe High School class of 1946. She was employed at the Michigan Bell Telephone Company, was a homemaker and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She was also a member of the ladies division of Verona Hills Golf Club. Carol and her husband, Donald, spent the winter months in Palmetto, Florida. Surviving are her husband, Donald; one daughter, Luanne Foster and her husband, Tim, of Cummings, Georgia; two sons, Terrence McMullen and his fiancée, Pam, of Bad Axe and Michael McMullen and his wife, Kathy, of Cummings, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Karya, Terry, Melissia, Mason, Ashley, Shannon, and Evan; and two sisters, Rita (Mason) Jolly of Bad Axe, and Marcia (Mason) King and her husband, Larry, of Wilmington, Delaware; and two great grandchildren. Mrs. McMullen is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Mason, on Nov. 25, 1968. Mass of the Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. John Killop, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery. A Parish Wake Scripture service will be offered tonight at 6 p.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association, Huron Memorial Hospital Hospice or to the Huron County Community Foundation. Alene Ogren Alene Beth Ogren, 79, died at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. on Dec. 27, 2000 after a short illness. She was born on March 6, 1921, in Elkton to Allan and Adeline (Roth) Eby. She graduated from the Elkton High School. Alene lived in Glendale, Ariz. since 1973. Alene lived a full and varied life. She was a L.P.N. and started the Scenic Convalescent Home in Pigeon. While living in Arizona, she managed a restaurant and owned and operated a day-care business before retirement. Alene leaves behind a grieving husband, Jack Ogren; two sons, Alan Ogren and James Ogren, both of Arizona; two daughters, Patricia and Beth, also of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and her only brother, Edwin Eby of Elkton. She is preceded in death by one son, Thomas Ogren; and one daughter, Dawn, both of Arizona. A memorial service was conducted in Glendale, Ariz. Mark Salowitz Mr. Mark A. Salowitz, 71, of Austin Township died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at his residence under hospice care. He was born on April 25, 1929, in Palms to the late August D. and Martha (Partaka) Salowitz. He married Barbara Stepka on May 5, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Argyle. He attended the rural school in Palms. He worked for the C & O Railroad and General Cable in Cass City for 25 years. He was a former member of the VFW Post of Port Austin, a member of the United Steel Workers Union and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church of Argyle for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Ubly; four sons, Paul of Flint, Alan and his wife, Kathy, of Macomb, Timothy Salowitz of Hazel Park, and Christopher Salowitz of Ubly; one daughter, Julieann of Ubly; four grandchildren, Kelly Salowitz of Macomb, Cheyann Salowitz of Capac, Shawn Salowitz of Flint, and Stephen Salowitz of Richmond; three brothers, Cresent Salowitz and his wife, Ila, of Deckerville, Titus and his wife, Gertie, of Palms, and Wilfred of Roseville; two sisters, Dorothy Traina of Clarkston; Joanne Blackwood of Palms. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Argyle with the Rev. Stephen Fillion, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Military honors will be provided by the Ubly VFW Post No. 6965. Visitation will be from 1 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. There will be a parish wake service at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Jacob Sharpsteen Jacob F. Sharpsteen, 97, died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Brian's House in Essexville. He was born at 31 E. Sharpsteen St. in Sebewaing on Sept. 10, 1903, to the late Fredric David and Matilda (Roberts) Sharpsteen. His father was captain of the schooner Hunter Savidge which sank 5 miles northeast of Point Aux Barques lifesaving station on Lake Huron on Sunday, Aug. 10, 1899. There were five lives lost including his first wife, Rosa. Jacob attended the Immanuel Lutheran School in Sebewaing from 1910 to 1914, and then through the eighth grade at the public school. He graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago in 1922. His first job was with the Village of Sebewaing in 1923 when they changed from direct to alternating current. A new power house and generator was installed, new power lines and boulevard lights, the first in Sebewaing. In 1925 and 1926 he was an electrician at the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit before starting his own business, Sharpsteen Electric in Sebewaing, which he operated until 1964. He later was employed as the electrical contractor at Michigan Sugar Company at Caro, Carrollton and Sebewaing plants until he retired in 1975. He married to Rosamond Ackerman on June 30, 1926. He was later married to Gladys Hemerline in 1964. She preceded him in death in 1972. Jacob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Dressler and her husband, Victor, of Sebewaing; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sharpsteen of Sebewaing; one step-son, Loren Hemerline of Saginaw; one step-daughter, Althea Boll of Alliance, Ohio; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Pearl Sharpsteen of Sebewaing; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, infant Jacob Ealy Sharpsteen and Frederic Sharpsteen; one brother, Robert Sharpsteen; one half-brother, Oliver Roberts; and one stepson, Calvin Hemerline. Cremation took place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. A Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing with the Rev. Ray McGee officiating. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Brian's House. Tuesday, March 13, 2001 Charles Becker Charles Gene Becker, 63, of Ubly died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Hills and Dales General Hospital. He was born on January 23, 1938, in Delavin, Ill. to Charles Archibald and Verna (Stevens) Becker. He married Carol Keyser on Nov. 22, 1958, in Cass City. Charles hauled cattle and bred, raised and trained horses. He was a horse trader. He and his wife owned and operated the Becker Zoo on Cass City Road. Charles was active with 4-H particularly with horse related activities. He was one of the last "true" cowboys. Charles enjoyed the county fairs, particularly the Sanilac County Fair. Charles is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Charles Becker Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Deckerville, Tammy Becker and her friend, Harold Dondineau, and James Becker and his wife, Linda, of Ubly; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Schulz, Leann Walsh, Nicole Cook, Kyle, Kayla, Nicholas, and Jesse Becker, Jeff and Jennifer Bryce; brothers and sisters, Orville, Mervin and Stella Becker, Delores Davis and her husband, Alfred, and Vera Becker; mother-in-law, Martha Keyser; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ben Becker; father-in-law, Hiram Keyser; and his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City with the Rev. David Edwards of Cass City Missionary Church officiating. Cheryl Meinhold Cheryl Ann Meinhold, 48, resident of Filion died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe. Mrs. Meinhold was born on June 26, 1952, in Saginaw to Betty (Lewis) and the late Thomas Miller. She was a graduate of Bad Axe High School. Miss Cheryl Miller and Mr. Thomas Meinhold were united in marriage on May 10, 1995, in Las Vegas. They were life-long residents of Huron County. Cheryl was formerly employed by the Walbro Corporation of Cass City, a sales representative for American Greeting Cards, and a cosmetologist. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed gardening, and visiting with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her mother, Betty Miller of Caseville; one brother, Thomas Miller and his wife, Lori, of Rochester; four sisters, Elaine McIntyre and her husband, Duane, of Bad Axe, Janet Crandall of Bad Axe, Susan Prill and her husband, Gary, of Bad Axe, and Deborah Espurvoa and her husband, Sam, of Castroville, Texas; twelve nieces, Rhonda Van Erp, Rebecca Mattice and her husband, Kevin, Jessica Prill, Rachael Prill, Alicia Damrow, Sarah Miller, Kirstyn, Julia, and Jorden Miller, Michelle Reed, Robin and Jacqueline Crandall; four great-nieces, Hanna Van Erp, Caitlyn Mattice, Samantha Mattice, and Bailey Prill of Bad Axe; one step-son, Jeremy Meinhold; one step-daughter, Katye Meinhold of Bad Axe; and one step-grandson, Brennon. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Miller. Menzel, 94, of Bay Port passed away on Monday, March 12, 2001, at Tendercare of Cass City. She was born on May 2, 1906, in Sebewaing to the late August and Ida (Martin) Priebe. She was united in marriage to Fred F. Menzel at the New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing on July 6, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Menzel was a homemaker throughout her lifetime and farmed with her late husband. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. She is survived by her daughter, Ella Griem and her husband, Floyd, of Port Austin; 10 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Priebe and his wife, Mildred, of Pigeon; two daughters-in-law, Pearl Menzel of Mayville and Vera Menzel of Bay Port; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins in Germany. She was preceded in death by three sons, Arnold, Raymond and Richard Priebe; a grandson, Richard Maxwell; a son-in-law, Howard Maxwell; a brother, Karl Priebe; and two sisters-in-law, Olga Menzel and Laura Priebe. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Elizabeth Reilich Elizabeth J. (Betty) Reilich, 79, of Bad Axe, former owner of Pines Mobile Home Village in Bad Axe, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe after a long illness. She was born on June 2, 1921, in Detroit to the late George and Martha (Zeese) Bradley. She and Donald P. Reilich were married on May 26, 1949, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1961. Mrs. Reilich was a veteran of the U.S. Army. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, and many trips she took with her friend, Margaret Kelly. She is survived by her son, Donald G. Reilich, and his wife, Beverly, of Ubly; one daughter, Lynne Tschirhart, and her fiancee, John Adams, of Bad Axe; three grandsons, Bradley Reilich of Ubly, P.F.C. Nick Tschirhart of the United States Marine Corps in Yuma, Ariz., and Jake Tschirhart of Bad Axe; and one sister-in-law, Betty Mould, and her husband, Darrell, of Beverly Hills. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Barr. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the H.W. Weitenberner Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Private burial will follow in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 Jerry Grifka Mr. Jerry Harold Grifka, 63, of Ubly passed away suddenly on Monday, March 12, 2001, at his residence. He was born on June 21, 1937, in Ubly to the late Mike and Agnes (Pionk) Grifka. He married Marie Rumptz on Jan. 9, 1965, at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. He was a graduate of Ubly High School, Class of 1956, and enjoyed all high school sports. He worked at Nestle Condenser for ten years. He worked with electrical contractors in the Flint area for a few years and then worked with John Carlo, Ajax and Axe Asphalt Companies. He was a former director and member of the Ubly Fox Hunters Club and a parishioner and usher of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly for many years. He was a little league coach and a member of Biff's and Tyll's Tavern Bowling Teams. He enjoyed golf, farming, euchre and his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Ubly; one daughter, Tina Olshove of Davidson; two sons, Darrell Grifka and his fiancee, Virginia Vanky of Wichita, Kan., David Grifka and his wife, Denise, of Ubly; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Adam and Mason Olshove, Jenna, Jamie, Jerry, and Grace Grifka; four brothers, Henry Grifka of Ubly, Ervin Grifka of Detroit, Michael Grifka and his wife, Helen, of Ubly, William Grifka and his wife, Sandy, of Ubly; four sisters, Anastasia Fisher and her husband, Marvin of N. Coulston, 87, formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in the Leelanau Memorial Health Care Center in Northport following a short illness. He was born on Feb. 2, 1914, in Harbor Beach to the late Neal and Marion (Ramsey) Coulston. He was a graduate of Harbor Beach Community Schools and attended Michigan State College. Melvin and Lucy Hubbard were united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1937, in Port Hope. He is a former employee of the Harbor Beach Creamery and was a 33-year employee of the Detroit Edison Co. retiring as plant superintendent in Harbor Beach in 1974. Melvin was an avid woodworker hobbyist, building many furniture pieces as well as other woodworking projects. Melvin was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harbor Beach, the Harbor Beach Community School Board and of the Harbor Beach Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Coulston, of Suttons Bay; a daughter, Janice Gorrell and her husband, Gerald, of Glen Arbor; two sons, Dale Coulston and his wife, Patti, of Suttons Bay, and Wayne Coulston and his wife, Marilyn, of Perrysburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Elwin Coulston of Niles and Russell Coulston of St. Clair. Melvin was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Howe; and a brother, Bruce Coulston. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001, in the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach with the Rev. Theresa Cutler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Victor Duda Victor Duda, 91, resident of Harbor Beach died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at the Harbor Beach Hospital, Long-Term Care Unit. Mr. Duda was born on Jan. 21, 1910, in Harbor Beach to the late Teofl and Mary (Balzar) Duda. Miss Irene Wiewiorski and Mr. Victor Duda were united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1985. He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Victor sailed the Great Lakes for seven years. He was employed by Gainor's Meat Packing Company and Maurer's Meat Packing Company. He liked to farm and was a contractor for the building of the Mackinac Bridge. Victor Duda is survived by his wife, Irene; one sister, Malina Kulish; 12 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three step-children, Nancy Klemmer, Gladys Dreffs, and Sandra Glide; 26 nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Snoopy. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Anthony, Tom, Joe, Cass, and Steve Duda; three sisters, Sara Duda, Emily Sherman, and Monica Mousseau. Memorials may be made to the family. Mary Eustace Mary Moore Eustace, 87, life-long resident of Kinde, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at her home. She was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Detroit to the late John and Antoinette (Marzec) Mroczek. Mary was first married to John D. Moore, who preceded her in death in 1973. Then she married Lester Eustace on Feb. 11, 1978, in Tucson, Ariz. They wintered in Arizona for 13 years. Mary was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and a life member of the Daughters of Isabella, Fidelis Regina Circle No. 608 of Bad Axe. She was a homemaker, enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Lester; five sons, Edward J. Moore and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Bad Axe, Robert D. Moore and his wife, Mary, of Burton, John T. Moore and his wife, Margaret, of Kinde, Jim Moore and his wife, Ginger, of Kinde, and Gerald Moore and his wife, Kathy, of Royal Oak; one sister, Lottie Schott of Plymouth; two brothers, John Mroczek and his wife, Betty, of Kinde, and Ed Mroczek and his wife, Marie, of Kinde; 24 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Larry Franzel Mr. Larry Franzel, 51, of Argyle passed away Sunday, March 11, 2001, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 5, 1949, in Sandusky to the late Earnest L. and Helen (Doerr) Franzel. He married Lynne Sygit in 1972 at the Forester Methodist Church. He graduated from Deckerville High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1970-1971. He worked for Trellborg Company, (Yale Rubber) of Sandusky for 25 years. He was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Palms. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was employed by Nagel Paper and Box Co. retiring in 1969 after 32 years of service. Michele Wilde Michele "Shelly" Wilde, 34, of Summerville, S.C. and formerly of Bad Axe passed away on Monday at the Trident Medical Center in Charleston, S.C. following a short illness. She was born on Nov. 5, 1966 in Bad Axe to Charles and Carole (Anderson) Wilde. She was a member of the Bad Axe High School class of 1985. She had an avid interest in the history of the Great Lakes and in computers. She enjoyed reading, visiting with her friends, her volunteer work in hospitals and with various church youth groups in Summerville, S.C. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Carole Wilde of Bad Axe; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her fiance, Larry Gannon in December 2000; one brother, Nathan C. Wilde on Oct. 25, 1999; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Mabel Anderson; and paternal grandparents, Alvin and LaVerne Wilde. Friday, March 16, 2001 Ila Kiehl Ila J. Kiehl, 81, of Bad Axe passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in the Bay Special Care Facility in Bay City following a long illness. She is survived by two daughters, Noreen Wright of Port Huron and Constance Kiehl of Bad Axe; and two grandchildren. Cremation took place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. She was born on April 20, 1906, in Pinnebog to the late Louis and Josephine (Champagne) Mousseau. Miss Gertrude Mousseau and Mr. Thomas Trompics were united in marriage on Nov. 23, 1923, in Detroit. Tom preceded Gertrude in death in July 1971. They lived 37 years in Oak Beach near Bad Axe. Gertrude was a homemaker and a member of St. Felix Catholic Church. Surviving are her daughters, Wanda Waelchli of Chesterfield, and Jeanne Ney of Bad Axe; two sisters, Mary Steinetz and Genevieve O'Neil of Port Austin; 18 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister in law, Helen Mousseau.
