Gnagey, 74, of Sebewaing died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper Hospital in Saginaw following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 17, 1926 in Pigeon to the late Simon D. and Esther C. (Swartzendruber) Gnagey. He was united in marriage to Nelda V. Janke on Nov. 23, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. Fred had been employed at Acme Roll Forming in Sebewaing and later at the Bay City Chevrolet plant for 19 years before retiring in June 1983. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, was assistant Sunday School superintendent for 25 years and had served on the Board of Evangelism and Board of Stewardship. He also was involved in Christian missionary work via donations, letters and parcels to India for over 35 years. He enjoyed rug weaving. Surviving are his wife, Nelda, of Sebewaing; one daughter, Lou Ann Morgan and her husband, Robert, of Climax; two sons, Brian Gnagey and his wife, Kris, of Livonia and Kevin Gnagey of Pigeon; four grandchildren, Sarah and Marissa Morgan, Steven and Julianne Gnagey; also one sister, Salina Eberly and her husband, Albert, of Irwin, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Brewster and her husband, Lyle, of Freeland and Judy Janke of Bad Axe; two brothers-in-law, Earl Linder of Silverwood and Edward Janke of Sebewaing; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Orie Gnagey; and two sisters, Mary Forman and Nannie Linder. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Albert Bahr will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. He will lie in state at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Family Life Radio, or to the donor's choice. Agnes Morell Agnes A. Morell, 81, of Ubly died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Bad Axe to the late Casimer and Marcaan (Briolat) Dudek. She married Arthur Morell on Oct. 28, 1939 at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. She attended high school in the Detroit area and returned to Ubly and the Dudek farm before raising her family. She was a life-long parishioner of St. John Parish of Ubly. She enjoyed gardening and needlework. She is survived by one son, Larry Morell of Ubly; two daughters, Rose Ann Emming and her husband, Joseph, of Ruth; Janis Peyerk and her husband, James, of Cass City; eight grandchildren, Sharon Lambious and her husband, Thad, of Lake Orion; Karen Scott and her husband, Dean, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Barbara Grifka and her husband, Greg, of Ubly; Cindy Bowen and her husband, Brent, of Grand Rapids; Kenneth Morell and his wife, Renee, of Ubly; Kevin Morell and his wife, Denise, of Bad Axe; Darren Morell of Ubly; Megan Morell of Ubly; seven great grandchildren, Amanda, Nikki and Adam Grifka; Jack Bowen, Trent Morell, Kayla Morell, Tyler Morell; also surviving are two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters, and one grandson, Roy Emming, in 1984. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2001 at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. The Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor, St. John Catholic Church of Ubly, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be today from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Monday, March 19, 2001 Beau Seiler Beau Matthew Seiler, infant son of Ryan and Beth (Beaudin) Seiler, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at 8:45 p.m. at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Beau Matthew was born on March 3, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. at Bronson Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Ryan and Beth (Beaudin) Seiler of Battle Creek; his maternal grandparents, John and Carol Beaudin of Ubly; his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Nancy Seiler of Deckerville; his Aunt Sarah Beaudin of East Lansing, Aunt Jeanene and Uncle Rick, Rickelle and Ricky Schmidt of Ubly, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Sherrie, Sloan, Trace, and Cade Seiler of Sandusky, and Aunt Shannon, Uncle Denny, Trevor and Jared Philpot of Palms; his great-grandmothers, Madelyn Schrader of Ubly, Gladys Briolat of Ubly, and Nora Seiler of Deckerville. A memorial service will be conducted at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City with the Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly, and Pastor Andrew Willis of the First Baptist Church in Deckerville officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be given to Bronson Health Foundation, 1 Healthcare Plaza, Kalamazoo, MI 49007-5345, in memory of Beau Matthew Seiler. Frank Talaski Sr. Frank S. Talaski Sr., 85, of Sigel Township near Harbor Beach, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Scenic AFC Home, Pigeon following a brief illness. He was born in Sand Beach Township on March 20, 1915, to the late Alexander and Anna (Grates) Talaski. He attended Adams School. Frank and Eleanor Susalla were united in marriage on Oct. 23, 1937, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. Together they farmed in Sigel Township until they retired in 1985. Eleanor preceded Frank in death on Aug. 31, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and was a former usher, a member of the Rapson Sportsman Club, and a member of the Eccles School Board for more than 30 years. Frank enjoyed farming, playing cards and operating his sawmill. He is survived by his five sons, Frank Talaski Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Bad Axe, Richard Talaski and his wife, Ilene of Jeddo, LaVern "Taco" Talaski and his wife, Jean, of Harbor Beach, Eugene Talaski and his wife, Til, of Bad Axe, and Fred Talaski and his wife, Julie, of Harbor Beach; 18 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Talaski of Filion, Julius Talaski of Filion, and Carl Talaski of Milford; and five sisters, Edna Peyerk of Bad Axe, Irene Gorney of Bad Axe, Magdaline Leppek of Filion, Marion Polega of Caseville, and Marge Woychowski of Bad Axe. Frank was preceded in death by two great- grandchildren, Matthew and Tiffany Talaski; and by three brothers, Lawrence Talaski, Bernard Talaski, and Robert Talaski. Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach with Fr. Gerald Kukla, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight, from 1 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Tuesday, March 20, 2001 Clayton Keillor Clayton Sanford Keillor, 91, life-long resident of Oliver Township near Bad Axe died Monday, March 19, 2001, at the New Beginnings Ambulatory Care in Filion. He was born on July 9, 1909, in Oliver Township to the late Elijah S. and Lillie Mae (Smith) Keillor. He attended the Oliver Rural School. On Dec. 19, 1937, Miss Eulah Soper and Clayton Keillor were united in marriage in Elkton. Mrs. Keillor preceded her husband in death on Feb. 21, 1998. Clayton was a farmer, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau Hall, and the Catering Connection. He is survived by one son, Roger Keillor and his wife, Sally, of Pigeon; one daughter, Delores Ruth of Kinde; one brother, Clare Keillor of Pontiac; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Joan Lawson and her husband, Andy, of Elkton, and Irene Santhony and her husband, Nelson, of Caseville; and several nieces and nephews. Clayton was preceded in death by his wife, Eulah; one son-in-law, Matthew Ruth; two sisters, Lula McDonald and Maggie Morrell; two brothers, Jim and Matthew Keillor; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Soper and Ward Soper; and two sisters-in- law, Joyce Merrick and Eleanor Smith. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with the Rev. Richard Shuart, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the Colfax United Methodist Church. Alva Murray Alva E. Murray, 87, of Ubly died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her residence after a long illness. She was born on Sept. 7, 1913, in Bad Axe to the late Alvin and Harriet (Hebner) Shobert. She married Clarence Murray on May 23, 1933, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Smith Corners. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1984. She was a graduate of the Verona County School. She worked with her parents and her husband on family farms. She was a parishioner all her life of Holy Trinity Church and a member of their Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, dancing, and socializing with her friends and family. She is survived by three daughters, Judy Pawlowski of Mason, Georgia Peplinski and her husband, Frank Jr., of Ubly, and Sherry Egnor and her husband, Dale, of Northville, 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Rena Kiehl and Clara Schumacher both of Bad Axe. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Clemens Pawlowski in 1999. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Holy Trinity Church of Smith Corners with the Rev. John Weis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Dorothy Uhl Dorothy M. Uhl, 89, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her home following a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 21, 1911, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Christ and Louise (Funk) Gayari. She was united in marriage to Carl Uhl on Aug. 26, 1933, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1983. They resided in Detroit until moving to Sebewaing in 1972. She moved to Prescott in 1996. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, and its ladies aid. She was also a member of the Unionville-Sebewaing senior citizens group. She enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by one son, Gary Uhl and his wife, Marcie, of Prescott; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Gunsell and Elizabeth Naffien both of Sebewaing; two brothers, Christ Gayari of Pigeon, Jacob Gayari and his wife, Theresa, of Clio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Schumacher, and two brothers, Peter and Martin Gayari. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing with the Rev. Gerald Meyer, vacancy pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 Bobetta Dombrowski Bobetta Hoin Dombrowski, 71, of Madison Heights formerly of the Verona area passed away on Monday, March 12, 2001. Bobbie Hoin was born on March 9, 1930, to Magdeline Hoin. After her mother's death, she lived with and was raised by her grandparents John and Mary (Hoin) Abraham. She was a graduate of Bad Axe High School. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Thomas; two aunts, Dorothy (Henry) Elandt of Bad Axe and Agnes (Art) Essenmacher of Harbor Beach; and numerous cousins. Thursday, March 22, 2001 - None Friday, March 23, 2001 Peggy Calverley Peggy E. Calverley, 82, of Sand Point died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw.
