HURON DAILY TRIBUNE, Bad Axe, Huron County, Michigan Local obituaries for the week (partial) of July 22, 2001 Wednesday, July 25, 2001 Cynthia Krug Cynthia "Cindy" J. Krug, 41, of Palm Harbor, Fla. passed away suddenly May 16, 2001, in Tampa General Hospital. She was born on Dec. 10, 1959, in Detroit to Richard and Ruth (Briolat) Krug. She was a graduate of Warren Cousino High School and a graduate of Florida Metropolitan University. She was a resident of Palm Harbor, Fla. for 15 years and was employed by Dr. Allan Rothschild, podiatrist, in Dunedin, Fla. She is survived by her children, Chelsea and Shane Ewart, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; former husband, Mike Ewart of Palm Harbor, Fla.; parents, Richard and Ruth Krug of Ubly; two brothers, Gregory Krug and his wife, Florie, of Casco; Alan Krug and his wife, Kim, of Port Huron. The memorial mass for Cynthia Krug will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2001, at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. The Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the church. Anna Peyok Anna Marie Peyok, 74, of Kinde died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. She was born on June 6, 1927, in Rapson, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Krozek. She and Sylvester Peyok were married on Nov. 7, 1959, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rapson. Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township where she was an active member of the Rosary Sodality. She loved to travel and visited 49 states, seven Canadian provinces, as well as parts of Mexico. Anna's many interests include gardening, quilting, canning, crocheting, sewing, and many other crafts. She is survived by her husband, Sylvester; son, Dennis Peyok and his wife, Pamela, of Gainesville, Va.; daughter, Laurie Peyok of Royal Oak; a granddaughter, Lyn Marie Peyok, a student at Michigan State University; two sisters, Jean Kolar and her husband, Jim, of Warren, Alice Hansen and her husband, Jay, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Ray Krozek, of Filion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Pollum and Eba Krozek; and four brothers, Edward, Bernard, Anthony, and Eugene Krozek. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township. Fr. Stanley Surman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A rosary led by the Rosary Sodality will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today followed by a vigil service at 8 p.m. at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde. Visitation will be from 1 until 9 p.m. today and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Jack Winchester Jack E. Winchester, 53, of Elkton died Monday evening, July 23, 2001, at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. He was born Oct. 3, 1947, to the late John and Raymonde (Girard) Winchester in Caro. Jack grew up in the Gagetown area and graduated from Owen-Gage High School in 1966. He had been a truck driver most of his life, but was forced to retire for health reasons. He was a member of the Victory in Christ Community Church, past member of the Elkton Jaycees, and coached little league for a number of years. Surviving are his son, Charles Winchester and his wife, Stacey, of Cass City; his daughter, Christina Schultz and her husband, Jason, of Gagetown; two grandchildren, Sydney Winchester and Benjamin Schultz; two brothers, Maurice Winchester and his wife, Judy, of Gagetown and Daniel Winchester and his wife, Patricia, of Caro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Victory in Christ Community Church in Bad Axe. The Rev. Stewart Justin, pastor will officiate with burial in Gagetown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Thursday, July 26, 2001 Elda Koehn Elda E. Koehn, 84, of Harbor Beach passed away Thursday, July 19, 2001, in the Huron Medical Care Facility near Bad Axe following a long illness. She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Port Hope, daughter of the late Herman and Ella (Eggert) Koglin. On Oct. 14, 1939, she and Arnold Koehn were united in marriage in Port Hope. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1986. Elda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach. She enjoyed being with family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. Elda enjoyed her garden and flowers. Surviving are six daughters, Argenia Perrine and her husband, Mike, of Fairmont, Minn., Beverly Hartz and her husband, Melvin, of Port Hope, Yvonne Reinke and her husband, Emil, of Marne, Betty Loewe and her husband, Rev. Timothy, of Saginaw, Diana Soper and her husband Laurie, of Rochester Hills, Jamie Healy and her husband John, of Harbor Beach; five sons, Arnold Koehn and his wife Shirley, of Harbor Beach; Carl Koehn and his wife Lorraine, of Clare, Loren Koehn and his wife Debbie, of Palms, Wendall Koehn, of Harbor Beach, and Jeffery Koehn, of Harbor Beach; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Alvin Koglin and his wife Leah, of Port Hope; a sister, Ida Schave, of Port Hope. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and two sisters, Argena McNeil and Everene Wurdleman. Funeral services took place at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach with the Rev. Mark Girardin and the Rev. Eugene Koessel officiating. Arrangements were handled by Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Friday, July 27, 2001 Theresa Amici Theresa M. Amici, 76, of Forestville passed away Thursday, July 26, 2001, under Hospice care at her home following a long illness. She was born in Detroit on Aug. 15, 1924, the daughter of the late Amedeo and Ersiglia (Chiappa) Bartolini. She and Marino Amici were united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1947, in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1987. Theresa was an active parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Forestville and was a former employee of the St. Juliana Grade School in Detroit. Surviving are two sons, Paul Amici and his wife Darlene, of Harbor Beach, and John Amici, of Chicago; one daughter, Marina Nemer-Kaiser, of Sterling Heights; four grandchildren; one sister, Leah Carloni, of Forestville. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2001, in the St. John Catholic Church in Forestville with Fr. Paul Bala, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Sterling Heights at noon on Monday. A vigil service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Ramsey Funeral Home Harbor Beach. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Joshua Dressler Joshua David Dressler, 21, of Akron, died Tuesday evening, July 24, 2001, from injuries received in a pick up truck accident near Bellaire. He was born April 28, 1980, in Bad Axe, son of Larry Jacob and Treva Fern (Swartzendruber) Dressler. Joshua was a 1998 graduate from the Caseville High School. He was employed by J. J. Communications as a lineman. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and kite flying. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berne. Surviving are his parents, Larry and Treva Dressler of Akron; one sister, Kristie Knowlton and her husband, Garrett, of Milan; one brother, Adam J. Dressler of Clawson; grandparents, Victor and Beverly Dressler of Sebewaing; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Cameron Knowlton; grandparents, Raymond and Loise Swartzendruber; and great-grandfather, Jacob Sharpsteen. Cremation took place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2001, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Rev. William Mayhew will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing and from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church. Memorials can be made to the donor's choice. Lillian Jaroch Mrs. Lillian Jaroch of Ubly, former owner of Jaroch's Grocery Store of Ubly, died Friday morning, July 27, 2001, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2001 at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's Tribune. 1
