HURON DAILY TRIBUNE, Bad Axe, Huron County, Michigan Local Obituaries for the week of June 24, 2001 Sunday, June 24, 2001 Reta A. Koroleski Reta A. Koroleski, 75, life-long resident of Dwight Township, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon. Mrs. Koroleski was born July 1, 1925, in Dwight Township near Kinde. She was the daughter of the late Casmeir and Mary (Inda) Ignash. Miss Reta Ignash and Mr. Philip J. Koroleski were united in marriage June 15, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Dwight. The late Fr. Posaid celebrated the marriage. Reta was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church - Dwight, sang in the choir and was a member of St. Mary's Holy Rosary Sodality. She was an active member of the Kinde VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, Port Austin, and a member of the U & I Club of Port Austin. She was a graduate of the Morrison Rural Country School, farmed with her husband, and helped with the housekeeping at the church. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, her flower garden, was a Tiger fan, enjoyed socializing at various card and bingo gatherings, and at times had some spare time to fish. Surviving are her husband, Philip Koroleski; three daughters, Rose M. Ruffini and her husband, John, of Clinton Township, Marlene J. Pratt and her husband, Gary, of Elkton, and Barbara M. Jimkoski and her husband, Larry, of Elkton; four sons, David P. Koroleski and his wife, Kathy, of Kinde, Marvin C. Koroleski and his wife, Vivian, of Elkton, Stanley R. Koroleski of Filion, and Duane R. Koroleski and his wife, Carol, of Kinde; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; two sisters, Gustava Sosnoski and her husband, Raymond, of Bad Axe and Helen Baranski of Bad Axe; one brother, Irvin Ignash of Kinde; four sisters-in-law, Lottie Ignash, Helen Ignash, Threasa Rice, and Florence Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Koroleski is predeceased by an infant grandson, Mark John Koroleski; two brothers, Harry Ignash and Raymond Ignash; and one sister, Agnes Jaworski. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Dwight. Fr. Mietek Oniskiewicz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. A rosary offered by St. Mary's Holy Rosary Sodality will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home, Monday at 7 p.m., by the Kinde VFW Auxiliary, followed by a parish wake scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will be at the MacAlpine Funeral Home - Gage Chapel, Kinde, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 1 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Memorials may be offered in the form of mass or of the donor's choice. Adolph A. Schuette Adolph A. Schuette, 82, of Pigeon passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Courtney Manor of Bad Axe. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at the Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. Arrangements are conducted by Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, Pigeon. A complete obituary will be printed at a later date. Allen Wisneski Allen Mark Wisneski, 50, of Bad Axe died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe. He was born May 16, 1951, in Bad Axe, son of Lucille (Cornett) and the late Andrew Wisneski. Allen was a graduate of North Huron High School, Kinde and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kinde. He was employed with the Ford Motor Company, Active Industries for 17 years, and Hamill Seat Belt Manufacturing Co. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his daughter, Jodi Wisneski of Bad Axe; son, Mark Wisneski of Bad Axe; one grandson, Derrick Taylor; his mother, Lucille Wisneski; two sisters, Angie Purdue of Midland and Roxanne Wisneski of Smyrna, Ga.; three brothers, Tim Wisneski of Romeo, Dave Wisneski of Kinde, and Randy Wisneski of Smyrna, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Wisneski. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kinde, with Father Mietek Oniskiewicz, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A scripture service will be offered Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home - Gage Chapel, Kinde. Memorials may be offered to the family. Monday, June 25, 2001 Gerald Mausolf Gerald "Jerry" Mausolf, age 43, of Ruth, died Saturday morning, June 23, 2001, at his home under hospice care. He was born on March 2, 1958, in Harbor Beach, son of Kenneth and Leona (Booms) Mausolf. He married Betty Kipp on May 10, 1980, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Church. He was a graduate of Harbor Beach High School Class of 1976. He worked at the Ruth Coop as a fertilizer applicator for 18 years. He was a Sherman Township firefighter for 16 years and past captain. He was honored by being selected Firefighter of the Year for 2000. He was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church of Ruth and a member of the Ushers Club. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, softball and playing euchre. He was a member of the Huron County Billiard League, former member of Brennan's Men's Softball Team for 10 years and Miller's Bar of Ruth for years, and former member of Ruth Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Ruth; three sons, Donald Rich and his wife, Charity, of Ubly, Joshua and Jeremy Mausolf of Ruth; one daughter, Michelle Mausolf of Ruth; his parents, Kenneth and Leona Mausolf, of Harbor Beach; one brother, Douglas and his wife, Patsy, of Sandusky; seven sisters, Kathleen Cleland and her husband, Roger, of Deckerville, Karen Dallas and her husband, Tom, of Harbor Beach, Jeanne Sweeney and her husband, Fred, of Jeddo, Julie Drouse and her husband, Ed, of Walled Lake, Mary Pfaff and her husband, Jim, of Ruth, Mitzi Koroleski and her husband, Steve, of Kinde, Lisa Hegenauer and her husband, Doug, of Six Lakes; two grandchildren, Alexander and Shaquala Rich; in-laws, William and Wanda Kipp of Snover; sister-in-law, Lou Wanda Armstead, of Bad Axe; brother-in-law, Joseph Kipp and his wife, Sandy, of Marlette; grandfather-in-law, Joseph Billiot; and 30 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael George Mausolf; his grandparents, George and Eleanor Mausolf and Edward and Cecilia Booms; a nephew, Nathan Pfaff; and grandparents-in-law, Erwin and Hazel Kipp and Flora Billiot. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church of Ruth. The Rev. Steve Gavit, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a Rosary by the Ushers Club at 8 p.m. today and a Firemen's Memorial Service at 8:30 p.m. today. A Parish Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. All services will be at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today, from 1 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. Memorials requested to the Family Discretionary Fund. Tuesday, June 26, 2001 Don Barden Don A. "Pug" Barden, 65, of Kingston, died suddenly in Marlette Community Hospital on Sunday, June 24, 2001. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Kingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Margaret Passenger officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the church. Arrangements by Kranz Funeral Home in Kingston. Wednesday, June 27, 2001 – None Thursday, June 28, 2001 Eunice Quigg Mrs. Eunice Quigg, age 81, of Ubly, died Wednesday morning June 27, 2001, at Spectrum Hospital of Grand Rapids. She was born on Sept. 22, 1919, in Argyle, daughter of the late Michael and Nora (Periso) Osantoski. She married Evans Quigg on April 22, 1940, at St. John Church of Ubly. She was a graduate of Ubly High School and a graduate of Beauty College. She was the owner of her own Beauty Shop in Kingston and in Ubly. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Argyle for 48 years and a member of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Grand Rapids West Leonard Senior Citizens and the Bad Axe Senior Citizens. She was a member of a Bunco Club and enjoyed gardening, euchre and dancing. She is survived by her husband, Evans, of Ubly; four sons, Lawrence and his wife Diana, of Clinton, Michael and his wife Lucy, of Grand Haven, Patrick and his wife Lucy, of Plymouth, Minn., James, of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mable Fisher, of Bad Axe, and Maxine Archer, of Brighton. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Luella Rumptz, Ione Weltin and Helen Osantoski. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Argyle. Rev. Stephen Fillion, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery of Ubly. There will be a vigil at 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today, 1 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. Friday, June 29, 2001 John Audia John Audia, 83, of Ubly, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Marlette Community Hospital, after a long illness. He was born on Feb. 17, 1918, in Bingamon, W. Va. to Sam and Maria (Marra) Audia. He married Roze Horvath on Nov. 3, 1937, in Oakland, Md. John served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Michigan Abrasive in Detroit for 20 years. John and his family then moved to Ubly where he dairy farmed. For a few years, until the plant closed, John worked for Evan's Manufacturing in Gagetown. John worked in coal mines for five years with an eighth grade education. He completed school and received his high school diploma along with his children. Mr. Audia is survived by his wife, Roze; children, Salvatore J. Audia, of Ubly, Maria Christina Audia of St. Clair Shores, Theresa R. Cramer of Mt. Clemens, Joseph R. Audia of Ubly; grandchildren, Ann Marle Krueger, Lisa Ward, John Audia, Scott Audia, and Amber Audia; great- grandchildren, John, Zach, Crystal, Brandon, and Austin; brother and sisters, Russell Audia, Christina Hungate, Teany Garnetti, Virginia Kapcia, Mary Abbruzzino; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Audia and Joseph Audia; sisters, Josephine Bonasso, Katy Paris, and Rose Guarascio. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements by Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Mary Blackstock Mary L. Blackstock, age 54, of Colfax Township, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe. She was born on March 20, 1947, in Bad Axe. She was the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Rachael A. (Tetreau) Gomoluch. Miss Mary Gomoluch and Jim Blackstock were united in marriage Feb. 8, 1969. Mary was a 1965 graduate of Bad Axe High School. Mary was employed by General Cable in Cass City for more than 20 years. She was employed also with Huron County Mental Health for 11 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, going for rides in the car and visiting with friends. Surviving are her husband, Jim, of Colfax Township; one son, Michael J. Blackstock and his special friend Amber R. Marentette, of Bad Axe; two brothers, Joe Gomoluch and his wife, Sue, of Reese, Ed Gomoluch and his wife, Deb, of Sturgis; two sisters, Venice Shuart and her husband, Clark, of Filion, and Phyllis Schelke and her husband, Jack, of Harbor Beach. Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Delwin Gomoluch, and one infant sister. In keeping with Mary's wishes, cremation will take place and private family service will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements were handled by MacAlpine Funeral Home of Bad Axe. Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bad Axe and the American Lung Association. Eleanor Wrubel Eleanor Wrubel, age 65, of Parisville died Thursday evening, June 28, 2001, at Mercy Hospital of Port Huron. A funeral mass is planned for Monday, July 2, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church of Parisville. Visitation will be Sunday at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
