Pangborn, 94, of Bad Axe passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born on Nov. 22, 1907, in Plains, Pa., daughter of the late Calvin and Julia (Peck) Chamberlain. She married Ward V. Pangborn on Dec. 26, 1931, in New York City. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1979. Mrs. Pangborn attended the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She retired from teaching in 1971 at the age of 63. She taught four years in New Jersey and 18 years in various elementary schools in Huron County. She enjoyed writing poems, gardening, teaching children and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Lynwood Pangborn and his wife, Sharon, of Bad Axe and Wayne Pangborn and his wife, Mary, of Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Mereta Terjesen of Jacksonville, Fla. and Edith Edwards and her husband, Clark, of Bad Axe; one brother, Calvin Chamberlain and his wife, Marilyn, of Williamston; three sisters, Elizabeth Jacobe of Lambertville, N.J., Maxine Hunt of Littlestown, Pa. and Edith Perrine of Virginia Beach, Va.; 12 grandchildren, Linda Severino and her husband, Jimmy, of Des Moines, Iowa, Sharon Armstrong of Bad Axe, Larry Pangborn of Auburn Hills, Sandi Brotzman and her husband, Jerry, of Jacksonville, Fla., Terry Pangborn and his wife, Lori, of Grand Rapids, Teena Kroes and her husband, Rick, of Cedar Springs, Julie Smith and her husband, Roy, of Mount Pleasant, Troy Swalwell of Rochester Hills, David Pangborn and his wife, Naomi, of Jacksonville, Fla., Garry Pangborn of Nashville, Tenn., Angela Hamilton and her husband, Shane, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jennifer Swalwell of Germantown, Md.; 12 great-grandchildren, Zachary Pangborn of Grand Rapids, Dylan and Morgan Kroes of Cedar Springs, Angela, Nicole, Stephanie and Chelsea Smith of Mount Pleasant, Crystal, Brenna and Luke Brotzman of Jacksonville, Fla. and Daniel and Sara Pangborn of Jacksonville, Fla. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Aloys Armstrong; one sister, Belva Allison; three brothers, Herbert, Alton and John Chamberlain. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jan Dykshoorn, pastor. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery in Colfax Township. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. on Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church. Clara Pettit Clara M. Pettit, 97, of Port Austin passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. She was born on July 22, 1904, in Sigel Township, the daughter of Joseph and Anne (Rumzek) Choppa. She and Bernard Pettit were married on May 17, 1927, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1971. Clara was a graduate of the Adams Country School in Sigel Township. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin since 1927. She enjoyed tatting and made many articles. She also liked playing the organ. Clara went to live with her daughter, Lorraine Craig, and son-in-law, John, of Bad Axe in June 1997 until she entered Courtney Manor in May of 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Craig and her husband, John, of Bad Axe and Evelyn Walsh of Port Austin; 17 grandchildren, Valerie Sirwaitis and her husband, Frank, of Redford, Diane Bergey and her husband, Art, of Romeo, Gregory Craig and his wife, Julie, Rodney Craig and Melissa Craig, all of Bad Axe, Laurie Polega and her husband, Dennis, of Kinde, Brian Craig and his wife, Jeanne, of Potterville, Barry Craig and his wife, Gretchen, of Berkley, Donna Walsh and her husband, Thomas, of Sebewaing, Mark Craig and his wife, Paula, of Schoolcraft, Randall Craig and his wife, Anne, of Livonia, David Walsh and his wife, Martha, of White Lake, Susan Foyt and her husband, Robert, of Shelby Township, Michael Walsh of Gregory, Maureen Learman of Port Austin, Mary Wellman and her husband, Chris, of New Baltimore and Jennifer Mauk of Lennox Township; 27 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Earl; one grandson, Patrick Walsh; three brothers, John, Edward and George Choppa; two sisters, Julia Depcinski and Thersa Schneidenbach. The funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. on today, Jan. 7, 2002, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin with burial in the church cemetery. Tuesday, January 8, 2002 Raymond DeMaertelure Raymond DeMaertelure, 64, of Akron passed away at home on Friday, Dec. 28, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Raymond and his friend, Renee, of Jackson; daughter, Melissa and her fiance, Patrick Peariso. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Unionville with Pastor Michael Allen officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pardee Cancer Fund. William Fealko Sr. William Lee Fealko Sr., 84, of Harbor Beach went to meet his heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 7, 2002. Bill died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Bill was born Nov. 27, 1917 to the late Sarah and Peter Fealko in Kittinging, Pa. He married C. June Armstead on Aug. 24, 1939 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. Bill was a former employee for 29 years at Hercules Inc., in Harbor Beach and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1982 after 17 years. Bill was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of OLLH in Harbor Beach. He was a eucharistic minister, altar server, lecter and usher. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Harbor Beach and formerly a member of Bad Axe and Caro. He was a member of the American Legion in Harbor Beach. Bill loved boating and fishing, playing cards and gardening. Bill always enjoyed and took great pride in his family. Surviving are his wife of 62 and a half years, June Fealko of Harbor Beach; three children, Nancy Lee Rose and her husband, Gary, of Harbor Beach, William Lee Fealko Jr., and his wife, Maureen, of Caro, Sandra Lee Elmy and her husband, Tom, of Thomaston, Ga.; nine grandchildren, William Learman and his wife, Jo, of Caro, Jean Marie Learman of Saginaw, Robert Learman and his wife, Evelyn, of Northville, Denise Deitzen and her husband, Vince, of Vicksburg, James Learman of Clare, Bill Fealko III and Jean Fealko of Port Huron, Michelle Whitmore of Lansing, Kelli and Christopher Masacek of East Grand Rapids, Kayla Fealko of Ypsilanti; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Allison Learman, Jason, Melissa, Krista and Amanda Learman, Benjamin and Katelyn Deitzen, Casey, Riley, Billy IV, and Andrew Fealko, Alexandra and Taylor Masacek; brother Robert Fealko of Harbor Beach; and sister Agnes Bradley of Brooksville, Fla. Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Joseph and Dorothy Landenberg; one great grandchild, Angela Learman, and one son-in-law, Alexander Dragus. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2001 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach. The Rev. Gerald Kukla, pastor and Fr. Joe Schaebel will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will have a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach. Military graveside service will be performed by the American Legion. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. Stella Hennessey Stella E. Hennessey, 77, of Cass City passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, peacefully in her home. She was born on Sept. 18, 1924, in Decker to William and Lena (Wentworth) Patch. She married Daniel Hennessey on Nov. 24, 1947, in Decker. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1992. Stella loved nursing and worked as a nurse's aid at Morris Hospital and Provincial House for nearly 20 years combined. She was a member of Sutton Sunshine Methodist Church in Colwood. She enjoyed playing pool and at one time played on leagues with her husband. Stella loved her kids and grandkids and spending time with them. She enjoyed baking and did so nearly every day. Stella is survived by her children, William Hennessey of Cass City, Robert Hennessey of Northville, Benjamin Hennessey of Caro and Susan Parker of Caro; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hennessey of Bay City; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Benjamin, Nathan, Aimee and Billy Hennessey, Angie Burnette and her husband, Don, Joshua Parker and his wife, Autumn, Candice Parker and Kara Hennessey; great-granddaughter, Nicole Parker; great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Hennessey; brother, William Patch and his wife, Mildred, of Harrison; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wentworth; several nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, sons, David M. and Robin Paul Hennessey; grandsons, Michael D. and Zachary Hennessey; and brother, Bruce Wentworth. Dorothy Janik Dorothy P. Janik, 72, of Colfax Township passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Hills & Dales General Hospital in Cass City following a long illness. Mrs. Janik was born on July 14, 1929, in Jackson, Miss., to the late Clavis and Clista (Wilshire) Nunnery. Dorothy and Frank J. Janik were united in marriage on Aug. 10, 1957, in Bad Axe. Mrs. Janik was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. She was employed at the former Red Top Restaurant, Pat's Coney Island and the Coral Gables Restaurant as a cook and baker. She also was employed for a time at Spindex and General Cable before retiring in 1978. Dorothy enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, her grandchildren, baking, cooking, reading, gardening and fishing. Surviving are her husband, Frank J. Janik; three daughters, Nadine Langley and her special friend, Ron Klee, of Harbor Beach, Paula Edwards of Caseville, Ava Edwards of Texas; two sons, Marvin Janik and his wife, Marcia, of San Diego, Calif. and John Purvis and his wife, Kathleen of Biloxi, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Hamilton of Wesson, Miss., and Margaret White of Jackson, Miss. Mrs. Janik was preceded in death by two daughters, Dolly Sanders and Tina Janik; one grandson, Mark Purvis; one sister, Bobbie Miller; three brothers, Aubrey, Alton and Willie Nunnery. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. The Rev. William Wright will officiate. Burial will take place in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. Barrons, 93, of Kingston passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City, after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Kingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Butters officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today at Kranz Funeral Home in Kingston and noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Enid Craig Enid F. Craig, 82, of Cass City passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, in Covenant Health Care Harrison in Saginaw. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Cass City United Methodist Church with Dr. Philip Rice officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 19, at the church. Friday, January 11, 2002 Alexander Randall Alexander L. Randall, 25, of Midland died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Ypsilanti. He was born Aug. 20, 1976, in Corry, Pa., to Linda C. Enterline and the late Kenneth R. Randall. Alexander was a member of the St. Marks Episcopal Church in Erie, Pa. He was a 1994 graduate of Bad Axe High School. He was employed by McDonald's Food & Family Center while in high school and college. Alex also was involved with the Port Austin Community Play House and was a disc jockey for radio station WLEW in Bad Axe and Fox 100.5 in Saginaw. He was the lead singer for various small bands in the Midland area and played bass guitar and drums. He also was employed by Mid-Michigan Music in sales and Jamm Distribution as a music representative. Surviving are his mother, Linda C. Enterline and her husband, John, of Waterford, Pa.; special friend, Katie Gillespie and daughter, Delaney Elizabeth Randall, both of Midland; one brother, Benjamin Cramer of State College, Pa.; grandfather, Howard Randall of Bad Axe; uncle, David Randall of Bad Axe; aunts, Beverly Lackie of Elkton and Carol Larson of Monroeville, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. The Rev. Jan Dykshoorn of the First Presbyterian Church of Bad Axe will officiate. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to Delaney Elizabeth Randall. Thelma Rueger Thelma A. Rueger, 76, of Auburn died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Auburn Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at St. Bartholomew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kawkawlin. The Rev. Fred P. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. on Saturday and from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. at 312 West Midland Road in Auburn and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the church.
