Greene, 86, of Scottville died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Tender Care Nursing Home in Ludington. He was born on Oct. 2, 1915, in Caseville, son of the late John and Nora (McGee) Greene. Alfred worked as a seaman on the Great Lakes for Columbus Transportation for more than 30 years. He is survived by four sisters, Mary Woolfer of Warren, Helen Pratt of Filion, Ann Nutt and her husband, Wes, of Davison and Eileen Wickline and her husband, Don, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; several nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Kinde. The Rev. Mieczyslaw Oniskiewicz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a vigil at 7 p.m. today at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Lyle Murry Lyle Murry, 90, of Sebewaing and formerly of Caro, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Caro Community Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1912, in Saskatchewan, Canada. Lyle was a graduate of Akron High School. He was a World War II veteran serving in France and England. Lyle Murry and the former Dorothy Trisch were married on Oct. 18, 1942, in Caro. He owned and operated Caro Wrecking Co. until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Theron W. Atwood American Legion Post No. 7 in Caro, VFW Post No. 4164 in Caro and the Caro Moose Lodge No. 1049 since 1946. He was a former Indianfields Township supervisor. Lyle was friendly with a fun- loving personality. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Murry, of Sebewaing; special niece, Geraldine Tibbits and her husband, Lewis, of Sebewaing; special nephew, Roy Murry and his wife, Betty, of Holt; two sisters-in-law, Lena Murry of East Lansing and Deloris Trisch of Caro; niece, Joan Litito of Sand Lake; many great-nieces and great- nephews; many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Horace Murry, on Sept. 16, 2001. The funeral service was Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial was in Indianfields Township Cemetery with military graveside services under the auspices of Caro VFW Post No. 4164. Memorials may be made to Caro Community Hospital or Bay Shore Camp in Sebewaing. Susan Susalla Susan R. Susalla, 82, of Harbor Beach passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in Autumnwood Nursing Home of Deckerville. She was born on Aug. 9, 1920 in Parisville to the late Paul and Martha (Gatza) Warchuck. Susan and Elmer Susalla were united in marriage on April 26, 1940 in Ubly. Susan was a devoted mother and an excellent cook. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time in her flower garden. She is survived by her husband, Elmer; two sons, Melvin Susalla of Harbor Beach and Dennis Susalla and his wife, Kim, of Sterling Heights; one son-in-law, Richard Typinski; three grandchildren, Susan and Ricky Typinski and Alex Susalla; two sisters, Irene Rudy of Cass City and Vicki Longuski of Bad Axe. Susan was preceded in death by one son, Elmer; one daughter, Shirley Typinski. A funeral mass for Susan will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville with the Rev. Andrzej Boroch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Leon Rosinski Leon John Rosinski, 95, of Bad Axe, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. He was born March 14, 1907 in Tyre, son of the late Andrew and Antonia (Warczyk) Rosinski. Leon married Mary on Dec. 29, 1934 in Detroit. After training in Chicago to be an electrician, Mr. Rosinski worked for the Briggs Motor Car Co. in Detroit which was later bought by Chrysler Corp. He remained with Chrysler for 43 years. He retired in 1969 and moved to Bad Axe. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; one son, Thomas and his wife, Elizabeth, of Livonia; one daughter, Jean Christensen of Warren; two granddaughters, Lauren and Paula; one great- grandson, Dylan; three sisters, Tracey Jesse, Agnes Bartalomucci and Alice Verbeke; one brother, Clarence. A funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. The Rev. John Killop, pastor, will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the H.W. Weitenberner Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the extended care services at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. David Monske David Monske, 52, of Caseville, a Scheurer Hospital medical technologist, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westland. Funeral arrangements are by Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, in Pigeon. Walter Schempf Walter L. Schempf, 62, of Pigeon passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Lee's Adult Foster Care Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Monday, September 30, 2002 Calvin Morrish Calvin Clark Morrish, 76, of Grant Township near Cass City went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on Sept. 24, 1926, on a farm in the Cass City area to Charles and Esther (Kittendorf) Morrish. He married Iris Churchill on Jan. 1, 1949, in Hazel Park. She survives him. Calvin retired in 1984 from Ford Motor Co. He moved to the Cass City area in 1985. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bad Axe and enjoyed the fellowship there. He enjoyed fixing cars and small engines, hunting and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Iris Morrish; eight children, Linda Bedore and her husband, Gary, of Sarasota, Fla., Jeanne Hagan and her husband, Earl, of Harrison Township, Norval Morrish of Royal Oak, Calvin Morrish Jr. and his wife, Susan, Paul Morrish and Michael Morrish, all of Ferndale, Donna Morrish of Ubly, Brian Morrish and his wife, Debbie, of Moscow, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Morrish and his wife, Dolores, of Traverse City and Harold F. "Floyd" and his wife, Sally, of Cass City. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Susan Marie; three brothers, William, Jack and Louis; four sisters, Aletha Fox, Helen Howey, Mildred Darr and Lavara Laming; one grandson, Harold E. Morrish. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Free Methodist Church of Bad Axe. Pastor Jerry Sutton will officiate. Burial will be Wednesday at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Tuesday, October 1, 2002 Anna Mergucz Anna Mergucz, 83, of Port Austin died on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical center in Saginaw following a long illness. She was born on July 2, 1919, in Welch, W. Va., daughter of the late John and Katherine (Herolvitch) Yanesh. She and John Mergucz were married on June 23, 1939 in Virginia. He preceded her in death in November 2001. Anna is survived by two sons, John Mergucz, Jr., and his wife, Doreen, of Cheboygan and Frank Mergucz and his wife, Mary, of Port Austin; one daughter, Francis Mergucz of Detroit; three grandsons, John Muscatello, Joe Muscatello and Frank Mergucz; two granddaughters, Anna Thousand and Tina Hoody; ten great-grandchildren, Nicole Marie Collick, Courtney Marie Mergucz, Matthew Thousand, Nicholas Thousand, Shannon Marie Mergucz, Michael Muscatello, John Brian Hoody, Jessica Muscatello, Justin Muscatello and Anthony Muscatello; one sister, Mary Asbury of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by two daughters, Julia Kaye Mergucz and Margaret Mergucz Muscatello; two grandsons, Michael Muscatello and John Shannon Mergucz; three brothers, John, Marshall and Joe Yanesh; one sister, Pauline Muscatello. Wednesday, October 2, 2002 Donald Greyerbiehl Donald J. Greyerbiehl, 75, of Rochester died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2002. Mr. Greyerbiehl was a retired tool designer for General Motors Corp. and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dolores; daughter, Deborah Schneider and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, Christian, Kati and Evan. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rochester. Interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Pigeon. There will be a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home at 339 Walnut Boulevard in Rochester. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. Alan Kwiatkowski Mr. Alan J. Kwiatkowski, 55, of North Fort Meyers, Fla. and formerly of Ruth passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Alan was born on March 19, 1947, in Grosse Pointe Farms to Ruby (Diem) Kwiatkowski and the late Joseph Kwiatkowski. He married Shirley Bukoski in May 1966 in Sandusky. Alan attended St. Joseph Catholic School of Detroit and was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren. He worked for Ruth Drain and Tile for 17 years. He drove a truck for three years for Diversified Management in Lee County, Fla. He loved motorcycles, fishing, bowling, softball, reading, and playing with his grandsons. Alan is survived by his wife, Shirley Kwiatkowski, of Fort Meyers, Fla.; mother, Ruby Kwiatkowski of Clinton Township; two sons, Raymond Kwiatkowski and his wife, Annmarie, of Ubly, and James Kwiatkowski and his wife, Sharon, of Forestville; one daughter, Christina Bowling and her husband, Kyle, of Deckerville; two grandsons, Kade and Conner Kwiatkowski of Ubly; two sisters, Nancy Nielsen and her, husband, Duane, of Fort Meyers, Fla. and Cheryl Fountain of Engadine. Private services were conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Cremation took place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Maurice Horton Maurice Horton, 64, of Asheville, N.C. and formerly of Caseville died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Asheville. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Arrangements are by Champagne Funeral Chapel in Caseville. Thursday, October 3, 2002 – None Friday, October 04, 2002 John MacGillivray John M. "Jack" MacGillivray, 88, of Bad Axe and formerly of Medallion Village in Sebewaing, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. He was born in Detroit on June 13, 1914, the son of the late Angus M. and Naomi Ethel (Brain) MacGillivray. On June 6, 1936, he was united in marriage to Alice J. Graham in Detroit. Mr. MacGillivray was a 1932 graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 42nd Rainbow Division in the European Theatre. He retired as a senior analyst from General Motors Tech Center Fisher Body Division in 1974. The MacGillivray's lived in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. for 10 years and then in Las Vegas, Nev. for 10 years. They retired to Roseville, where they lived until moving to Medallion Village in 1998. Mr. MacGillivray enjoyed all sports, especially Detroit Red Wings hockey. He loved music and enjoyed singing and whistling. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice; daughter, Sandy MacGillivray and her husband, Bill, of Sand Point; son, Norman J. MacGillivray of Fraser; two grandsons, Brett MacGillivray of Eastpointe and Todd MacGillivray of Chicago, Ill.; great-granddaughter, Miranda MacGillivray of Warren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon with the Rev. Margaret Passenger officiating. Interment will be in the Caseville Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
