Sunday, August 31, 2003 Mary Arnoldy Mary Arnoldy, 94, of Sebewaing, died Friday evening, August 29, 2003, at Alterra of Midland following a brief illness. She was born March 1, 1909 in Yugoslavia, daughter of the late John and Blanche Garschott. She moved to the United States at the age of 13. She was united in marriage to Henry Arnoldy on September 18, 1927 in Detroit. He preceded her in death in October, 1977. They had resided in Detroit until moving to Sebewaing in 1974. Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing. Surviving are two sons and spouses; George and Barbara Arnoldy, of Grosse Ile, and Henry (Hank) and Donna Arnoldy, of Sebewaing; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jenny Baker, of Fairhaven and Stephanie Wesche, of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Garschott, and one brother, John Garschott. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2003, at the Holy Family Catholic Center. Fr. John Weis will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing from noon to 9 p.m. today. She will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service. There will be a scripture service at the funeral home at 7:30 tonight. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Mid-Michigan Visiting Nurses Association. Raymond Frederick Raymond J. Frederick, 72, of Livingston, Texas, died Friday, August 29, 2003, in Saint Mary's hospital in Saginaw. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Kranz Funeral Home of Cass City, with Pastor J.T. Mabe, of Mizpah Missionary Church, officiating. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Mizpah Missionary Church. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Fredric L. Galmish Fred Galmish, 69, of Oak Beach, died Thursday, August 28, 2003, at Saginaw Saint Mary's hospital after a short illness. He was born April 10, 1934 in Meadeville, Pa., son of the late Gilbert and Miriam (Schroeder) Galmish. Fred was a retired Detroit Police Department Harbormaster and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Port Austin American Legion Post 499, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2239 and the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Morris, of Midland, Karen Lipsey, of Denton, Texas, and Mrs. Susie McCabe and her husband, William, of Eastpointe; and six grandchildren, Janice, Laura and Elyse Morris, Christopher Timny, Kyle Lipsey and Tiffany McCabe. Visitation will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at the H.W. Weitenberner Funeral Home of Bad Axe. Cremation will follow. T. David Marsh T. David Marsh, 69, of Port Hope, passed away August 26, 2003, in Port Huron Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Born in DeCatur, Ill. on May 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Baird and Virginia (Maxey) Marsh. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of the University of Southern Florida earning his Master's Degree in education. He is a retired teacher with the Pinellas County, Fla. school district. On December 18, 1982, David and Bernadine "Bernie" Matczak were united in marriage in Detroit. Together they own and operate the 4 Seasons Cafe in Port Hope. He was a member of the Elks Club of Pinellas, Fla., the American Legion of Atlantic Beach, Fla., the Bad Axe Moose Lodge, Grindstone/Port Hope Sportsman Club, and the AmVets Post 115 of Port Hope. David is survived by his wife, Bernie Marsh, of Port Hope; two daughters, Cheryl Elliott and her husband, Bob, of Kansas City, Kan., and Teri Roller and her husband, John, of Gilbert, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Karli, Casey and Kyle; brother, Peter Michael Marsh and his wife, Tudy, of Eugene, Ore.; sister-in- law, Lori Roberts, of Harbor Beach; and a special God child and niece, Alison Roberts, and a special nephew, Chad Toms; and many other nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be next Saturday, September 6, 2003, at 11:30 a.m. in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach. Interment will follow in the New River Cemetery, Huron City, where military honors will be conducted by the AmVets of Port Hope. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the service time on Saturday. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice. Monday, September 1, 2003 – Labor Day Holiday Tuesday, September 2, 2003 Bernard Pulcer Bernard J. Pulcer, 77, of Ubly, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2003, at the Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe. Bernard was born on July 25, 1926 in Rapson, to the late John and Agnes (Tschirhart) Pulcer. He married Pearl Schmitt on June 26, 1948 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Smith Corners. Bernard graduated from 8th grade at the Maurer School. He worked at Bad Axe Grain Company and farmed on the family farm. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity, a member of the Holy Name Society and a former usher. He was a member of the Parisville VFW Post No. 5740. Bernard is survived by his wife, Pearl, of Ubly; three daughters, Gloria DeChane and her husband, Bruce, of Elkton, Sandy Micklash and her husband, Art, of Bad Axe, Dawn Pulcer, of Shelby Township; four grandchildren, Heidi Mausolf and her husband, Keith, Sean Gleason, Adam and Kyle Micklash; two step-grandchildren, Michael and Dennis DeChane; one great-grandson, Michael Mausolf; three sisters, Ann Morell, of Ubly, Betty Maurer, of Ubly, Arline Abraham and her husband, Sylvester, of Bad Axe; one brother, Raymond Pulcer and his wife, Donna, of Harbor Beach. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Smith Corners. The Rev. John Killop, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Parisville VFW Post No. 5740. There will be a rosary by the Holy Name Society at 8 p.m. tonight at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Joleen Clark Joleen S. Clark, 68, of Harbor Beach passed over to eternal life after a courageous struggle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease, on Sunday, August 31, 2003. A service of remembrance will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003, in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2003, and from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, September 13, at the funeral home. Hornbacher, 78, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon following a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1925 in Sebewaing, daughter of the late John and Rose (Bockmiller) Dressler. She was united in marriage to Elmer F. Hornbacher on May 5, 1944 in Houston, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1999. Florence had been employed at Michigan Sugar Company in Sebewaing for 34 years before retiring in February 2000. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. She was a multi-dimensional person with many interests including golfing, bowling and gardening. Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl "Cheri" Nitz, of Sebewaing; two sons, Dale Hornbacher and his wife, Debra, of Sebewaing, Gary Hornbacher and his wife, Joyce, of Rio Rico, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Bethany Weber and her husband, Lucas, Joshua, Allison, Noel and his wife, Kelly, and Barry Hornbacher, Jamie, Jody and Justin Nitz; two great-grandchildren; Lawson and Bennett Weber; one sisters, Dorothy Youngs, of Sebewaing; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Virginia Jessup, of Caseville, and Florence Kundinger, of Sebewaing. She was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Webb, and one brother, Ernst Dressler. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The Rev. Jim Nihiser will officiate with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Kilmanagh or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Sand Point. David Luttman David W. Luttman, 25, of Port Austin, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003. He was a loved and respected companion, son, father, brother, as well as a friend. He is survived by his life partner, Sandrea LaCourse; and their two children, Dustin and Madison. He is also survived by his mother and step-father, Lorraine and Franklin Voss; brothers, Dennis and James; and sister, Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary, and his son, August. A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. Fr. Robert Pare will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be conducted from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde. A vigil will be conducted at 8 tonight at the funeral home.
