Bouck, 94, of Cass City, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. He was born April 30, 1910 in Michigan to the late Roy and Anna (Heckroth) Bouck. He married Mae Peterson on December 1, 1934. They lived near Kinde and Cass City and spent many winters in Holiday, Florida. Mr. Bouck was a lifelong farmer in Greenleaf Township. He was a member of shuffleboard and men's clubs in Florida. He is survived by two sons, Roger Olin Bouck and his wife, Vera, of Cass City, Ernest Erwin Bouck and his wife, Bev, of Royal Oak; seven grandchildren, Patricia Widger and her husband, Rob, of Fenton, Jennifer Vida and her husband, Bruce, of Holt, Madeleine Bouck, of Howell, Ronald Bouck and his friend, Sandy, and her son, Jordan, Nathan Bouck and his friend, Rachael, Zachary Bouck, and Jesse Bouck, all of Cass City; two great-grandchildren, Emma Nichol Widger and Gracelyn Mae Vida; one daughter-in-law, Monica Gallas; one brother, Charles Bouck and his wife, Virginia, of Elkton; one sister, Verdalee Knechtel, of Bad Axe; two sisters- in-law, Ruth McComb and her husband, Manley, of Caseville, Florence Iddings, of Kinde; and many nieces and nephews. Olin was preceded in death by his wife, Mae; one son, Ronald Keith Bouck; one grandson, Chris Bouck; three brothers, Orville, Floyd and Bill Bouck; one sister, Lillian Kuntsman; two brothers-in-law, Carl Kuntsman and Waldron Knechtel; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Bouck. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2004, at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Pastor Gerald Meyer, from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cass City, will officiate. Strieter, 86, of Bay Port, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004, at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born in Bay Port on February 10, 1918 to the late Walter and Mary (Sturm) Baur. She graduated as salutatorian of Bay Port High School in 1936, and worked as a registered nurse at Detroit Children's Hospital, Hubbard Memorial and Huron Memorial Hospital, and the original Scheurer Hospital, where she was employed as the first night nurse. She was united in marriage to Ervin Strieter in Sylvania, Ohio on March 4, 1940, and was preceded by him in death in 1994. Mrs. Strieter loved to paint and was a member of the Brownsville Art League and the McKinley Homemakers for many years. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne, where she served in the St. John's Ladies Aid and the Women's Society. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Terri Strieter, of Bay Port, and Allen and Karole Strieter, of Gladwin; a son-in-law, Kenneth Paulin, of Marquette; six grandchildren: Heidilyn and Neil Haremski, Michael Strieter and fiancee Lesley Recker, Marissa Strieter, John Strieter, Dean Ellenberg, and Jason Ellenberg; one great-grandson, Jackson Haremski; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Paulin; two sisters, Clara Henne and Alice Buchholz; and a brother, Paul Baur. Taylor, 77, of Schoolcraft, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Roy was born February 24, 1927 in Mt. Clemens, the oldest child of Roy and Ellen (Jacobson) Taylor, and grew up on the family farm in Romeo. He graduated from Romeo High School in 1944 and was attending Michigan State University when he was drafted in 1945. He faithfully served his country, being stationed in Italy as a member of the Blue Devil Division. He married Barbara Carter on September 15, 1951 and they raised four children. Before moving to Schoolcraft in 1994, he and Barbara lived in Rochester, Pigeon and Capac. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, Roy loved to laugh and tell jokes. He enjoyed John Wayne western movies, Louie L'amor novels, gardening, fishing and the Detroit Tigers. He was a member of the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Barbara; children, Anne O'Donnell and her husband, Michael, of Columbus, Michigan, John Taylor and his wife, Carrie, of Chugiak, Alaska., Katherine Taylor, of Portage, Martha Taylor, of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Marilyn Cunningham, of Lawton, Barbara Dehn and her husband, Roger, of South Haven, and Carol Jean Hutchison and her friend, Ron Beck, of Lawton. Liedke, 68, of Elkton, died Friday morning, July 2, 2004, at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw. He was born on November 17, 1935 in Harbor Beach to the late John and Lydia (Weiss) Liedke. On April 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Vahovick at the Zion Lutheran Church, Harbor Beach, and made their home in Elkton. Orville loved to walk; he walked all over Elkton daily. He made a pilgrimage north to walk the Mackinac Bridge 10 years in a row on Labor Day. Orville had worked at Active Industries in Elkton on production, retiring in 1973 for health reasons. Orville was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Linkville, and enjoyed fishing both winter and summer, painting pictures and baking bread for the neighbors. Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his brother and sister-in- law, John and Ann Liedke, of Merritt Island, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Viola Liedke and Winona Carr, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Linkville. The Rev. Mousseau, 74, of Deckerville and Tucson, Arizona, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2004, at his home on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron with his family at his side. Born in Detroit on August 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Beatrice (Ready) Mousseau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Ray was a retired CEO of the Chicago Pneumatic Company retiring in 1990. He enjoyed the out of doors and was an avid hunter of deer, ducks, and pheasants. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach and the Harbor Beach Rotary Club. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle. Ray was also a history buff of the Civil War and World War II events. Ray was united in marriage to Susie Stumpf on July 23, 1949 in Roseville. Surviving are his wife, Susie Mousseau, of Deckerville; his children, R. Bryon Mousseau, of Clinton Township, Renee` S. Barnes and her husband, Jame, of Harrison Township, Deborah L. Ferns and her husband, Gary, of Tucson, Arizona, and Tami A. Guerra, of Auburn Hills; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marianne Mousseau, of Fort Gratiot. Hendrick Gladys Charlotte (Copeland) Hendrick, 88, of Cass City, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, under hospice care in Wadhams Care Home, Michigan Outreach Corporation, Kimball. She was born May 25, 1916 at home in Sanilac/Huron County, one of 11 children of George and Maud (Wyers) Copeland. She married Lee Hendrick on April 25, 1933 in Sandusky. He died March 3, 1998. Gladys and Lee were dairy and crop farmers. Gladys was able to help any way necessary on the farm. She also worked at the Tate Grocery Store in Cass City and was a waitress at the Michigan Livestock Exchange Restaurant in Cass City for about seven years. She enjoyed playing euchre and was a member of the Euchre Club for more than 50 years. Gladys attended Cass City United Methodist Church. Gladys and Lee enjoyed square and round dancing, and time with her family. She always had time for her grandchildren. Gladys is survived by her children, Richard Hendrick and his wife, Elaine, of Cass City, Arlen Hendrick and his wife, Edith, of Brown City; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great- granddaughters; sister, Helen Decker and her husband, Jerry; sisters-in-law, Leone Copeland, Lucille Copeland and Helen Carlile; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Shirley Hendrick; three sisters, Hazel Harrison, Marge March and an infant girl; brothers, Howard, Leonard, Arnold, Ken, Harold, and Eldred. Petruk, 92, of Port Hope, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2004, in the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. Born in Buffalo, New York on October 7, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Jagello) Basaj. She married Joseph Petruk on September 26, 1931 in Detroit. Joseph preceded her in death on September 2, 1989. Josephine started weaving rugs in 1961 and soon established herself as the "Thumb's Best Rug Weaver." Her rugs have gone to more than 30 states and several countries including Turkey, Mexico, England, Guam and Canada. Her trademark is the "Crow's Feet" woven into both ends of her rugs. The rugs were 27 inches wide and lengths from 24 inches to over 24 feet long. She had been featured in various local newspapers where she discussed her role during World War II as a Riveter. She spoke with pride of how she helped support the war effort. Survivors include three sons, Daniel Petruk and his wife, Geri, of Cape Coral, Florida, James Petruk and his wife, Joyce Ann, of Auburn, California, and Joseph Petruk and his wife, Agnes, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years; one son, Jerome Petruk; two sisters, Lilly and Alice; and a brother, Henry Basaj. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. today, July 6, 2004, in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, with Fr. Gerald Kukla, pastor of Our Lady of Lake Huron Church, officiating. Sroka, 77, of Bad Axe, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. Gerhard was born June 27, 1927 to the late Hermann and Meta (Rosemann) Sroka in Kreisau, Germany. Gerhard graduated from a barber trade school and was employed at the Jacob Miller Barber Shop in Delmenhorst, Germany. In January of 1957, the World Council of Churches and the First United Methodist Church of Bad Axe sponsored his citizenship to the United States. He worked at the McMullen Barber Shop, which he purchased in June 1960. He retired April 25, 1991. Gerhard was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a choir member for many years. He was a Detroit Tigers fan, past master of the Verona - Huron Masonic Lodge #365 F&AM, he was a member and past board member of the Bad Axe Lions Club and was a member of the Verona Hills Golf Club. He enjoyed polka dancing, golf, and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Gail Cates and her husband, Gary, of Evansville, Indiana, Cheryl Jacobs and her husband, John, of Kent, Washington; one son, Darin Sroka and his wife, Jennifer, of Bad Axe; ten grandchildren, Sarah, David, Nick, Tim Siemen, Daniel and David Hoff, Adam, Aaron and Haley Sroka, and Amber Meldrum; one brother, Gottard Sroka, of Badhersfild, Germany; and a nephew, Lothar Sroka of Middletown, New Jersey. Daniel Zaborowski Daniel Zaborowski, 74, of Grindstone, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on January 20, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Walter and Lottie Zaborowski. Daniel was a people person and loved the Grindstone area where he owned and operated Danny Zeb's Party Store and Bar and Grill for more than 20 years. He was an Army veteran and fought in Germany during World War II. He was a member of the Port Austin American Legion Frank Horetski Post 499 and a past Commander of the American Legion Post 200 in Taylor. Daniel enjoyed spending his time at the store, golfing,and fishing. He is survived by eight children, Jo D'Amico, of Southgate, Diane Katko. of Southgate, Dennis Zaborowski, of Taylor, Debbie Maniaci, of Florida, Donna Gallo, of Plymouth, Ronald Zaborowski, of Taylor, Tonya Ladouciur, of Taylor, and Cindy West, of Livonia; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 Jeanette Dell'Acqua Jeanette Dell'Acqua, 64, of Traverse City, met with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Munson Medical Center. She died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born June 27, 1940 in Kinde, the seventh of 12 children, she was the daughter of Nelson and Arla (Chapdelaine) Mousseau. On August 31, 1963, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Kinde, she married Richard James Dell'Acqua, who survives. Jan was an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and served as a treasurer of the Women's Club. She also managed the Center for Peace and the Catholic Resource Center. Jan attended daily Mass and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her six children and seven grandchildren. Jan escorted many pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, and assisted in refugee camps during the Bosnian war. Jan will be missed by her family and friends of her empathy, unconditional and binding love, but, especially, for her laughter. Born in Harbor Beach on September 28, 1908, he was the son of the late Louis and Catherine (Shum) Hoeldtke. On March 21, 1931, William and Gaynell Davis were united in marriage in Bowling Green, Ohio. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1993. William was a retired employee of the Detroit Edison Company retiring in 1973 after 42 years of service. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM of Harbor Beach and enjoyed hunting and being out of doors. Surviving are his children, Thelma Strew, of Lapeer, William Lee Hoeldtke, of Harbor Beach, Betty Rhoades, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Norman Wayne Hoeldtke and his wife, Carol, of Vassar; 19 grandchildren; 30-plus great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Keglovitz, 80, of Sandusky, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004. She was born June 9, 1924 in Carsonville to the late James and Marguerite Maher. She married George W. Keglovitz on November 29, 1952 in Port Sanilac. He proceeded her in death on March 13, 1973. Mrs. Keglovitz was a clerk for many years with the Sanilac County Treasurer's office. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. Julian Trocksa Julian Trocksa, 96, of Pigeon, passed away Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Huron Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. She was born in Chromar, Saskatchewan, Canada on February 16, 1908, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Halyoung) Yurko. On December 3, 1930, she was united in marriage to Edward Trocksa in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania, and the couple recommitted their vows on August 1, 1931 at Christians Catholic Church in Detroit. Mr. Trocksa passed away on September 15, 1975. Mrs. Trocksa was a homemaker throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Her survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Blumerich, of Pigeon; a granddaughter, Karen Wood and her husband, Dennis, of Amarillo, Texas; and a great-grandson, Todd E. Haskell, of Pigeon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael G. Yurko, and a son-in-law, Marlin Blumerich. Patterson, 88, of Ubly, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Courtney Manor Nursing Center, Bad Axe. Mr. Patterson was born September 4, 1915 at Sheridan Township to the late Neil and Isabelle (Leitch) Patterson. He and Marie Graves Diefenbach were married August 10, 1968 at Cass City. The couple made their home in Ubly the past 35 years. Archie attended a country school; was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and served in the European Theater; life member of the National Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a carpenter and for a time was employed at Hogan Construction Company, Bad Axe. He enjoyed reading, was a Tiger baseball fan and noted story teller. Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Marie; one daughter, Judy Gibbs and her husband, Cecil, of Quimbly, West Virginia; three step-daughters, Donna Howe-Wilson and her husband, William, of Patrickburg, Indiana, Pauline Diefenbach, of Harbor Beach, and Mary Diefenbach, of Port Hope; three step-sons, James Diefenbach and his wife, Patrice, of Highland, California, Daniel Diefenbach and his wife, Jeraldine, of Clyde Park, Montana, Robert Diefenbach, of Florida; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Archie was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Neil Patterson; and two sisters, Margaret Crumback and Janet McDowell. According to the wishes of Mr. Patterson, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City. Memorials may be offered to Courtney Manor Nursing Center. Michael J. Thede Michael J. Thede, 51, of Bay Port, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. He was born June 29, 1953 in Pigeon, son of John C. "Jack" Thede and the late Verna E. (Diebel) Thede. He was a 1971 graduate of Sebewaing High School. He was united in marriage to Donna L. Bach on October 16, 1976 in Sebewaing. Mike had been employed at Sebewaing Tool and Engineering for 30 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Donna, of Bay Port; two sons, Ryan Michael and Aaron Bach Thede, both at home; his father, John C. "Jack" Thede, of Sebewaing; three sisters, Sandra Irion and her husband, Tim, of Sebewaing, Kathie Kuhl and her husband, Rodney, of Chesaning, Patti Gremel and her husband, Steve, of Bay Port; four sisters-in-law, Sharon Kayden, of Auburn, Judy Halstead and her husband, James, of Sebewaing, Chris O'Brien and her husband, Tom, of Brighton, Mary Pelham and her husband, Jim, of Blissfield; one brother-in-law, Dan Bach, of Sebewaing; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. The Rev. Charles Kuhl will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. He will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the service time on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund, Scheurer Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice. 9
